How to change thermostat

Instructions
    • Trace the top radiator hose from the radiator to the location where the hose secures to the engine. The metal cover that the hose connects to houses the thermostat.
    • 2Remove the two 10-millimeter bolts that secure the cover onto the engine with a wrench. If you cannot reach the bolts or you are using a socket/ratchet, remove the radiator hose from the metal cover by removing the radiator hose clamp.
    • 3
    • Lift the metal cover off the thermostat to expose the thermostat. With the radiator hose still attached to the cover, lift upward on it to drain the fluid back into the engine. Push the cover and the hose off to the side. If you removed the hose, simply lift up on the metal cover and place it off to the side.
    • 4Pull the broken thermostat out of the engine and place a new one into place. The new one should be orientated in the same manner as the old one to ensure proper fluid circulation.
    • 5Lift the old gasket off the engine and place the new gasket into place. The new gasket should remain dry throughout this process.
    • 6Bolt the metal cover back onto the engine using the old bolts. If the radiator hose was removed during the tear down process, secure the hose back onto the metal cover with the radiator hose clamp.

What kind of gasget material is needed to make gasgets for a 1972 Honda SL350 from cylinders up with exception of the Cylinder head(have new one) and the metal one under cam cover

Hi you will need to get some gasket paper ( oil paper) medium thickness for the underside of the cylinders, you have your headgasket, you may nee to get a number of orings which fit around the dowels and seal the oilways ,the rocker cover should be fitted with a rubber seal which fits in a recess in the rocker cover, you could use some rtv sealent to help seal it, but dont overdo it, you have the metal cover for the breather cover. Tip check all rocker cover bolt holes for thread condition before reasembling ,

Singer 4562 t bobbin case won't fit properly, what am I doing wro

Make sure the bobbin case sets sort of on top and not under the ridge of the metal ring. There is a small latch on the upper left of the bobbin case. It is metal. rotate the latch to cover the bobbin case and this should stabilize the case without making it immobile

How do you rplace an ignition lock cylinder on a 98 toyota corolla

You can do this one yourself if you want it does not require removing the steering wheel. just the plastic housing from the steering column.
remove housing/cover. then look at housing with cylinder lock assem. on bottom about 1.2 inches or so from the end of the lock assembly you will see a very small hole insert metal pin into hole and push in while turning the key in the ignition backwards to accessory positionyou will feel the pin your pushing move in a bit, then you should be able to pull the cylinder assembly out. insert new assembly with key in the same position and turn forward this will install your new assemlby then reassemble your plastic column covers.

I need to replace the cord. There is a short near the housing.

hi may i suggest ? if you wish to renew the complete cord/wire? why not fit a longer length to facilitate more reach thro different rooms from the preferred wall socket ? the problem of short /breakage of wires within outer sleeve near casing is common on lots of vacs it is not a difficult job to replace if you are competant with wire and colour codes remove the access cover where wire enters vac then observe the attachment of each wire ? then disconnect faulty cable transfer the rubber tube that is normally fitted at entry point to vac at this point to new cable remove outer sleeve of new cable same length as old cable to reveal the inner wires then connect to vac sockets resecure cable to vac as previous dont forget the rubber tube? refit entry cover and fit a new 3 pin plug bs kite marked ? then away to vac the rooms? hope this helps

Washing machine problem

my w830 is doing exactly the same thing.

I am usually pretty good at fixing these sort of things so if/when I solve it I will post back here.

I think it is a motor fault - most likely the motor brushes are worn out.

Delphi Nav200 gps problem

There are male and female tabs all around the plastic case of the GPS unit itself. Gently pry and push the case halves in and away from each other. Be careful not to lose your cool, as it is frustrating.

Antenna broke and I replaced it

If your not sure what to do at this point you probably should stop right here, however if your bold enough to try this, remove the back cover, I believe there are 6 (six) screws in total, there is also a small metal contact that touches the main circuit board on the back side, that also connects to the antenna, most often a springy piece of gold plated metal attached to a solid threaded nut, where the antenna is attached that fits snugly into the back cover of the phone when the cover is installed the nut is secured and won't fall out. This contact could be on the nut or on the main board if you bent it out a bit to make better contact, you will most likely fix your phone. Cheers!
