When you turn the know for the either one of the 2 right side burners there is no heat, no sound...nothing. Whe we called for service they did not come out but knew what it was without even looking at it. I thought maybe I could find out what the problem is and save myself $300 bucks.
Thanks

The cooktop is electric but when you turn on any of the elements you will immediatley hear the fan or a small "hummm" and then the red glow. When you turn on the two right knobs (by right it is from me standing in front of the range) there is nothing. The middle and two left work fine. It is only 2 years old so I can't imagine what it would be but the service tech did without looking at it just by our explanation.
because you say sound,im thinking its gas and your not hearing the spark ignitor's clicking.if you lit a match and held it to you burner and then turn knob on you should have a flame.jenair's has removable crartiages so to assume its the spark moduel may not serve best.there is an electrode that exstends from the cartiage into the range that could also have some failed points.when you turn your knob too lite burnner there's also a switch on each burner valve.but if one was bad it would not stop both,so it has tobe somthing they have in common.do you have two cartiages ,if yes switch them that would narrow it down abit.if works then problem in your cartriage.if not the in the range like spark moduel, wiring!
