Front speakers will not work

My front speakers will not work. This happened in a course of a day. I got out of the car and they worked. When I got back in and started the car up they did not work. Did anyone have this problem? Someone mentioned water in the door is this true?

No not water its posible that your radio wires stoped working for the front ,or if you have a amplifier then the front speaker wires stop working from there so either u have a bad radio or a bad amp

SOURCE: Occassionally, the front, driver-side door speaker fails....

Well, time, patience, and past knowledge... allowed me to determine that the voice coil of the woofer was bad. I wasalmost able to blob solder at the coi, to get it fixed. But, it never got reliable. So, I shall replace both sides with better speakers.... I was able to hear the car's 'chime' in the tweeter, though barely. That led me on to disassemble the door, and learn more, like that the door is wired by a bi-amp situation....

SOURCE: Front two speakers just stopped working.

I have an 05 Cobalt that just experienced the same problem. I had my door panels off and my speakers appear to be dead.

If you have a multimeter, you can pull the speaker out and test to see if you get resistance across the two terminals. It should say on the speaker what the resistance should be (most likely 4 ohms). If you get no reading, you most likely will have to replace the speaker.

You could also test for AC voltage on the speaker wires. When the stereo is on, and set to a reasonably loud value, you should get a few volts. If you don't get any reading at the door, it may be either the wiring or the stereo. To determine which it is, you will have to take readings at the stereo output.

Hope this helps.

Why does my 1999 chrysler sebring convertible JXi with amp under pass front seat, all speakers work except for the 2 front door speakers and the speakers are not the problem, they work fine everywhere

Most likely the amp. Manufacturers just don't seem to put these in spots that are dry. Behind the kick panel on the passenger side, this is where most water comes in. Under the seat, because water sits in/on the floor board it causes very high humidity. the other is in the truck, which also leaks and stores high humidity. And of course, they don't make them weather/water proof because the amp is inside the car. Thing is, you can't bypass the amp. The radio needs it to run the speakers. No amp, No sound. Your three options are, 1 replace the amp to get the door speakers. 2 repair the amp. 3 replace the radio and still have to bypass the amp. The speaker wires run from the radio to the amp from the amp to the speakers. So you will have to splice in a new radio, and splice the speakers wires at the amp. Hope this helps.

Only my front dash speaker and my sub works. none of the door speakers work

It would be helpful to know what vehicle these speakers are in? But just guessing I would suggest checking your crossover.
