Question about HP OfficeJet 6210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi guys. My 2610 All in One is dispalying the above mesage. All the lights as well as that of the screen are flashing. By pressing the on/off button it performs a self test, then Initializing and then again goes bach to self test. Thereafter the above message appears. It dosen't turn off. Iunplagged it for awhole day and i tried again next day. The cartidges were pulled out and replaced, Nothing has changed. I called a technitian from the store i bought it and told me that no service manual exist for this type of machines. His suggestion is to send it bach to HP for replacement as it is still covered by the guarantee. Fisrt of all i would be very obliged if you could provide me with a solution to this problem, as to avoid going through the replacement process that i realize could take up to a month. Finally i am wondering what is going to happen in case another problem appears and the machnine is out of the guarantee period. Will any owner has to throw it in the dust bin because no technical support exists ? WONDERFULL !
Try this -remove both cartridges , carefully. Look carefully at both white ribbon cables directly in front of the cartridge heads You will see the cable and some gold contacts. Also you will see a piece of wire which retains and signals the machine that the cartridges are loaded correctly. There is one for each cartridge. While examining the ribbon cable look for a small hole or perferation in the cable. This can be caused by the wire not being aligned when the cartridges are replaced. If there is a hole in the ribbon assembly. You have to order the whole cartridge and ribbon assembly. This is a major repair and can cost almost as much as a new printer. I know this because , I just bought two on line one the ribbon cable was punctured and the other wasn't. I made one that worked out of two. Good Luck!!! Scrivitron

You first must remove both ink cartridges. Then directly behind them you will see the white ribbon
cable. And you will also see the retaining clips,
(these clips hold the cartridge in place and activate the safety switches.) send me a picture of ink cartridge assembly with out the cartridge in and I can confirm the problem. Scrivitron

I can't find that piece of wire which retains and signals the machine. Do i have to disassemble the machine? Neither i observed any small hole or perforation in the ribbon cable (I used a magnifying glass).
I don't know how to proceed.
Any way many thanks.
I am very greatful for your support. I eventually returned the machine to the dealer i bought it from and they are in the process of replacing it as it seems that they can't fix it.
Thanks anyway.
