Question about Olympus Stylus 700 / 700 Digital Camera
Basically, the left hand side of the lcd screen has been damaged. unsure how and when, but it looks like an internal crack. no longer have manual or even the reciept of the camera so i am really confused about wgere i can go to have this fault repaired, and cheap.
Sadly there is no "cheap" solution. These cameras are built en mass and repairing them is most times more expensive than teh entire camera. the screens are very fragile and very expensive to by, so the bad news is that it may be cheaper to buy a new camera than to have yours fixed. (crazy isnt it) Still, if you are intent on fixing it, you can call your local electronics dealer and ask who looks after warentee items for them (not that it will be fixed under warentee) but it will give you the name of the company that fixes electronics locally. Just make sure you get an estimate prior to handing over the camera as they will charge a minimum $65 just for looking at it!
