Question about Indesit W 123 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Indesit w123 It seems to get stuck at the beginning of a wash cycle. No matter what number we start it on - for example 8 - it starts ok the drum turns etc.. but just seems to stay at that point indefinately. I do try to move it on by hand but the timer knob starts to move around the clock until its back where the programme thinks it should be. i.e. at the start number 8. It doesn't seem to even get to the point where the element is turned on and the water starts to heat up. I can only get it to drain away if I switch it off at the wall turn the button to reset and wait for the click suggesting the door is now unlocked. I can then switch the power on and turn it to drain which it then does. help!!! thanks in advance Nicki

ok will try that - so are you suggesting that it will only move thru the cycle when the water reaches the set temperature. Cos that would kinda make sense but I really dont know too much about these things. really appreciate your help

    thanks

It is so common that the washing machine can make terrible noise in many ways and is a common fault. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that machine is vibrating when it is running then the motor /drum suspension has to be inspected. Since these fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for the noise with a good inspection lamp. Manually turn the motor and drum and listen for the noise, if so the motor bearings, the drum agitator shaft and fittings must be checked. Also the suspensions which include the shock absorbers and springs, the body clamps must be checked to be in correct alignment and not changed in position. Tightening of the mounting is also very important. Finally in most cases a drop of OIL or smear of grease on the moving parts cane solve most issues.

Indesit w123. motor burnt out?

If your seeing flashes from behind the dial I'm thinking that the timer needs to be changed. Even with the motor shorted out, it still wouldn't cause that effect to happen.

Indesit W123 5 flashes error!!

The F05 fault means the pump is blocked, check the filter at the front bottom right of the machine behind the plinth and if its connected under a sink check the hose & connection

Dial spinning on W123

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.
