Toshiba 46G310U randomly turns off then back on

The television completely turns off... no green power light. it will stay off for a minute or two then turn back on. This could happen 5-10 times in an hour, or not at all in 3 hours. Very random, very annoying.

I Have the same problem with set. The board is over heated and shuts down..

Cold solder joints. Reheat the joints might fix it.

Finally figured out the issue with this. It's a momentary dip in voltage caused by the A/C, dryer or fridge coming on.
I can reproduce this everytime by turning everything on, then starting the clothes dryer.

You most likely have a bad power supply board.

The Toshiba number for this board is 75024143 and it is somewhat hard to find/expensive.

It suffers from a design flaw for a number of Toshiba boards from this time frame.

You can find repair services for many of them at our site www.coppelltvrepair.com and here is the listing for 75024143 in particular:

http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/984/repair-your-toshina-46g310u-power-supply-board-pk101v2520i-n249a001l-n272r001l-75024143

I would say that probably all boards in circulation out there will develop these symptoms over time.

Hope we can help!

SOURCE: Toshiba LCD TV AV500E Turns off then on every 5 minutes

It sounds to me that the Main board is causing the problem. But I would get in touch with Toshiba for a warranty repair. It has a one year parts and labor warranty. It makes it a lot cheaper for the pocket.
Good Luck,

SOURCE: Toshiba Regza 40XV645U garbled sound

There is an issue with the audio processor. Most likely it is the main board needs to be replaced in order to fix the issue. You will need to remove the back cover in order to get access to it.

There could also be an issue with the power supply supplying the right voltage to the processor. This can be checked by seeing if the 18V DC is present at pins 3 and 4 of CN90 on the power supply. If the voltage is present, then replace the main board. If it is not, replace the power supply.

Toshiba 46g310u turns off and on by itself

The problem is a voltage dip. I can reproduce this on the same model TV by turning on the A/C or the oven and dryer at the same time. As soon as I hear the thermostat click on the TV shuts off. Just order a voltage regulator today, will see if that works.

46G310U turns off and on

There is a surface mount cap that is leaking and causing the power supply to go into "brown out" mode and shut down.
The cap is C808 and is on the back of the board by U2. Remove the cap. Desolder it, or break it off. Get rid of it and replace it with a .22uf soldered to pins 2 & 3 of U2 (or equivalent wiring). Pin 2 is the brownout signal, and pin 3 is common. That should do it!
