The television completely turns off... no green power light. it will stay off for a minute or two then turn back on. This could happen 5-10 times in an hour, or not at all in 3 hours. Very random, very annoying.
Finally figured out the issue with this. It's a momentary dip in voltage caused by the A/C, dryer or fridge coming on.
I can reproduce this everytime by turning everything on, then starting the clothes dryer.
You most likely have a bad power supply board.
The Toshiba number for this board is 75024143 and it is somewhat hard to find/expensive.
It suffers from a design flaw for a number of Toshiba boards from this time frame.
You can find repair services for many of them at our site www.coppelltvrepair.com and here is the listing for 75024143 in particular:

I would say that probably all boards in circulation out there will develop these symptoms over time.
Hope we can help!

It sounds to me that the Main board is causing the problem. But I would get in touch with Toshiba for a warranty repair. It has a one year parts and labor warranty. It makes it a lot cheaper for the pocket.
Good Luck,

Display IC seems to have gone. It will be a replaceable module. Only you have to figure out which one it is. Such thing happen in electronics. Look for any burnt or bulged IC.

It sounds like the seine board. I replaced several of these. Exteded warranty would be nice in this situation. Hope you have one.

There is an issue with the audio processor. Most likely it is the main board needs to be replaced in order to fix the issue. You will need to remove the back cover in order to get access to it.
There could also be an issue with the power supply supplying the right voltage to the processor. This can be checked by seeing if the 18V DC is present at pins 3 and 4 of CN90 on the power supply. If the voltage is present, then replace the main board. If it is not, replace the power supply.

I Have the same problem with set. The board is over heated and shuts down..
Cold solder joints. Reheat the joints might fix it.
