SOURCE: Lexmark X4550 - paper jam

My Lexmark did the same thing-if you can get in at the rollers to clean them that might help.

Open the top cover to see the jammed paper. If u wont see the paper then you have to open the cabinet of the printer . After opening remove the paper

I have a paper jam. There is a 4 x 6 size paper in the printer. I cannot see it but I know its there. How can I eject the paper?
Try to open the printer cover to access the cartridge area. Firmly hold the paper jam and carefully remove it from printer. Avoid tearing the paper, if possible. Leave no torn pieces in the printer to avoid future paper jams.

Running Leopard Snow OS 10.6.7 and Lexmark X4875 wireless printer. I can print but cannot open Lexmark work center (for scan etc).
You can download the Lexmark 4800 Series driver from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/hjWPTi. However, for the Lexmark OCR scan software, that can only be installed using the install disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

Printer keeps telling me that paper is jammed, but it is not. have switched on and off and tried folded paper down to rollers but nothing is blocked. what can i do?
Even the tinest piece of paper can cause this and also a sensor needing cleaned. Take a small flashlight and examine every nook and cravice of the computer. You may find a piece of paper. Take a lint free cloth and clean inside the machine as well and then try it.

Paper jam message
on most lexmark printers when it reports a paper jam with no paper it means that the main motor drive has not initiated. open the top lid and stick a q-tip in the sensor that tells the printer the lid is open. turn the printer on and observe to see if any of the feed wheels turn during self tast. if they do not you have a bad motor drive.

Check your paper passege sensors, may the actuator is boken or one of sensors is dirt. Use blower to blow off dust.Hope this solves your problem.

usually it means that a sensor in your fuser is bad. If you have a P.M. Kit replaced the fuser and clean the printer.

but before you do, make sure that you have cleared all jams, including in the fuser.

Its probably time for a Preventive Maintanence
