Question about GE JVM1490 Convection/Microwave Oven
It sounds as if your door switch is out of line. If this only happens when you close the door you may want to check they switches on the inside. one of them is either bad or you just may need to line it back up.

My GE JVM1490 also makes a low fan noise when I close the door and the oven (microwave/convection) is not on. WIth the door open - the fan goes off and the light comes on. When you close the door, the light goes out and the low fan comes on - it is a different fan, not the hood fan.
I have the same oven and it developed the same problem. I disassembled the unit and traced the noise to the damper motor which controls both an intake and exhaust damper on the oven chamber (not to be confused with the exhaust hood of this unit). I have not been able to figure out yet whether the damper motor needs replacing or whether it is a control panel issue. I did take the motor out of the oven and test it separately and it turns but when I put a load against the arm that connects it to the exhaust damper control rod it does not offer much force and continues to run if I hold that arm stationary.
