The very FIRST thing to check is to make certain ALL of your speakers have an IMPEDENCE of 8 OHMS. Virtually all speakers of even modest quality will include this specification on a label on the back of the speaker. You CANNOT run more than (2) TWO speakers with 4 OHMs impedence on ANY amplifier (technical discussion too long!) [NOTE: Your Pioneer unit has an internal overload protection system to prevent permanent damage. However, you cannot re-set these systems yourself. Your dealer or authorized HK service center must do this.] But, before you take it in for service, there is one more "test": check for shorted and/or mis-connected/disconnected speaker cables/wires. Visually inspect connections at the receiver and speakers first. You might find something obvious! If everything looks okay, then disconnect ALL of the speakers; and reconnect and test them one at a time (at relatively low volume.) For example, reconnect the left front speaker, test the system; THEN add the right front, test the system, and so on, ADDING one more speaker each time - FIRST MAKING SURE EACH OF THEM HAS AN IMPEDENCE OF AT LEAST 8 OHMS! IF there is a short (or bad speaker) this will help isolate it. Hopefully one of these "fixes" will work for you. GOOD LUCK!

Kenwood vr606 reciever shutting off subwoofer and centre speaker simultaneously after few minutes/seconds of powering on. WHat's the cause?

The receiver's out put sections are grouped in pairs. Front left and right in one output, rear left and right in second output, and center channel and sub output on the third. Sounds like a semiconductor or semiconductors have gone bad in the center & sub output.

I have the Tom Tom ONE (Build 2000) Tom Tom Palermo (if this Info Screen info is helpful). This Tom Tom HAS NO RESET PIN HOLE (Thanks a lot Tom Tom). I instaled included Tom Tom Home software, went to...

My thanks to the gentleman who posted the link to Tom Tom's solutions link. Although I had been there previously months ago when I first encountered this problem, there had been at that time, no instructions from them on how to properly reset the One that does not have a reset pin hole. That was in March. There are now such instructions.
The key to resetting such a Tom Tom GPS device lies in plugging your One into your computer, which automatically launches Tom Tom Home software (please remember, you have to have Home software installed on your computer already). After doing this:
1. When Home launches, go to Manage My Device Folder (p.2) and click it to open it.
2. You will see a folder-style window which lists all of the items that are your device. Select the folder tab: 'Items on device.' Then Deselect Applications. Click OK when promted. The Applications software will be deleted from your Tom Tom One.
3. IMPORTANT! Then clcik the other folder tab 'Items on computer.' Do the same here by deselcting to uninstal software on your computer as well. Click OK when promted.
4. If you do not get an automatic dialog box indicating that you need new application software installed, return to p.1 and select the folder 'Update My Device.' Follow the instructions as prompted and Tom Tom will both download new computer Home software as well as new software to the One device.
That should do it.
I will tell you that it took me three passes at this process. So it's not a breeze. But in the end it finally worked. And my One, which had been down since March is once again finally up and running with new software and as well as I remember it working.
Hope this helps others.

The reciever just shuts down

The manual suggests disconnecting inputs and outputs and power, letting it sit for an hour, then plugging it back in and turning volume to max to see if it still shuts off. If it does, the problem is with the unit. If it doesn't, the problem is elsewhere.

Judging from some other sites, this is a common problem. If you take it to a dealer, suggest they check the AC input. Before anything else, make sure that there are no stray wires on your speakers connecting the positive and negative clips, which will cause a short and activate the amp protection.

I had the same problem with an Onky502 and replaced it today with an Onkyo606. It worked fine for an hour then started shutting off automatically. I'm following the manual and letting it cool off now for an hour, and meantime I'll check my speakers.

Tom tom one version 2.2

Try this.
Run TTH without your unit connected.
Click on update my device (or any other process that you need TTH to perform).
You will then be prompted to connect and turn on the tomtom.
Connect and power up the device, if it asks you if you want to connect to computer, select yes (it does not always ask).

Should I just Buy a new one?

You have a bad power supply or the audio output circuit has a short in it. You are correct by saying its probably betterv off getting a new unit. Most likly cost you more then a brand new shiny unit would . Good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread
