Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Thanks for this solution. I will purchase a card reader & try your suggestion.

Go to Samsungs websight, software should be available for download there, if not, any run of the mill picture software will allow you to upload the images to you're computer, the main thing is to make sure the drivers are in you're computer for that particular camera, if you can't find samsungs websight try googling it, here I found the site you need this will take you directly to you're cameras support page, with all the software and drivers you will need.http://www.samsung.com/us/support/search/supportSearchResultView.do?group=&group_cd=&type=&type_cd=&subtype=&subtype_cd=&model_nm=+S730&dType=D&mType=&model_cd=&menu=download&prd_ia_cd=&disp_nm=+S730&isEqualsY=

be sure all of this is in you're browsers address line. and it will take you directly to the site....

Do not hav disc to put in computer does not recognise camera

You might want to consider getting a card reader instead. Once the memory card is inserted into the card reader, the card will appear as a disc and you can simply drag-and-drop your pictures like any other file. It will also be faster than going through a USB cable.

Downloading photos

If you are using Windows XP unplug your camera from your PC and uninstall the Kodak software. You don't need it to transfer photos to your PC. The next time you connect your camera (turn the camera on) to your computer it should recognize it and you can use Windows built in transfer software. I was able to down load pictures from my Samsung S600 digital camera, now I am not able to do that, I donot know the problem, can you tell me what to do for down loading the pictures

There are a few different options to transfer pictures to your computer from the samsung camera.
Firstly, is your computer recognising your camera when it is switched on and plugged into the usb port? (ie, do you see various options on the screen of your pc)?
Alternatively, plug in your camera to the usb port and switch on the camera. Double left click My Computer and you should see "Samsung Digital Camera" somewhere. Open that file to see your pictures. Left click "Edit" Left click "Select all" then "copy these files" to a destination of your choice.
Does that help at all?
