Timer VCR Recording for a Toshiba MV13M2 13 in. TV/VCR Combo
I have no user manual for a Toshiba MV13M2 TV/VCR. I do have a remote though. I need to know how to program the unit to use the timer VCR recording feature. Thanks.
Hello, you can go to the toshiba web site and download the manual from there.
The other option is to go into the TV menu, and select the timer rec set selection and access it there and fill in the times for the program you want to recording and that should do it.
I hope tihs helps.

Please rate! $20 for a NEW remote is fair. There are some cheaper universal remotes from the big box stores but you then have to program it. Some of these universal remotes are tricky with combo units. A new remote would be ready to go out of the box. Most of Toshiba's products have a manual online than can be viewed, downloaded, or printed off.
Usually, depending on the source, or channel, timer recording can be performed on a VCR; even this model.
The short answer is YES - you can record cable times or set manual scheduled recordings on this VCR. It depends on the channel(s) available in your area, and/or the source (such as cable receivers/set top boxes, etc.) which are intended to be recorded.
remote codes are set by the manufacurer of the remote not the tv. if there are any others not listed in instructions for remote, the manufacturer of remote would have them. most combo unit are not able to be programmed into universal remotes due to the fact that there are alot of specialized function buttons on original remote. you can obtain a replacement remote thru toshiba
Im thinking that maybe you a have a timer recording set. The whole unit wont function at all if you turn it on via power button (remote or unit). There should be a button at the top of the remote called 'timer set' pressing this will disable that mode and allow complete use of everything. but make sure u press timer set again when powering down, otherwise simply turning off the machine will leave the timer recording disabled.
Recording speed is the last item on the timer programming. SP or SLP. Some remotes have a button that will allow you to change the speed, when recording manually.
I am sorry to have to tell you this, but the only way to change the recording speed is with an original remote. If you look on the original replacement remote link I posted here you will see the SP/EP selector, this is to change the recording speed.
