My LG CRN 8245B on my IBM ThinkPad doesn't work. It always displays the message, "Please insert a disk into drive E:.". I tried to solve it by using Windows Help and Support Center but it still doesn't work as I could not update, reinstall my driver. What can I do?
I have already roll backed the os, and it always said that I don't have a back-up for that...I have already roll backed the os, and it always said that I don't have a back-up for that...
Do anyone have a CRN-8245B floppy disk driver here... I lost mine... I need one... Hope someone could help me...Do anyone have a CRN-8245B floppy disk driver here... I lost mine... I need one... Hope someone could help me...

Re:
These compact CD drives break more easily than standard desktop drives. Your drive will probably need to be replaced.
First I would try removing and re-inserting the drive (maybe even a few times) There is probably one screw or a slide switch under the laptop to allow the CD drive to be removed.
IF that does not help, have you cleaned the lens? You have easy access to the lens when the drive is open. If you have any camera lens cleaning equipment use that, if not 91% rubbing alcohol and a q-tip will work. Just don't rub too much or apply much pressure at all. Just lightly sweep away any dust.
If none of the above work I would look for a replacement. The CD burner or DVD burner drives are typically more reliable and last longer.

This drive is not a cd burner. It is only a 24X CD "reader". This means that it reads the cds but not write on a blank one. Here is a link to specs if you need:
clean the lens of the cd drive,if still the same prblem, check another good/clean cd..if still the same...replace the lens or the cd drive.nothing else..
