I have the same system, mcm309r and unfortunately, the power is routed thru the subwoofer meaning the subwoofer has the power cord and the stereo plugs into it, so if you unplug the sub-woofer, you unplug the stereo.

Connect Philips sw3440/37 powered sub, with no other components. I bought this powered sub at goodwill... How do I hook it up without the other components (dvd player etc.)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can connect this sub-woofer without the rest of the components of the HTS3440/37 DVD Home Theater System or a related Philips home theater system. The speakers in the system are hard-wired with a colored plug that you connect to the sub-woofer. Then you need connect the inter-connect cable between the sub-woofer to the DVD Player of the system. See the wiring guide in the Quick Start Manual or the User Guide available on the product support page: https://www.usa.philips.com/c-p/HTS3440_37/divx-ultra/support .

Sub-woofers that aren't part of a home theater system connect to a receiver with a digital audio RCA cable. One example is here: https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-ULTRA-Subwoofer-Cable-Feet/dp/B003FVYXY0 . Then the speakers also connect to the receiver.

Even if you find another Philips Home Theater system that is missing the sub-woofer, I wouldn't rule out a change in the pin arrangement for the inter-connect cable that would cause the system to fail. I can't find any sources for a replacement inter-connect cable; the part number isn't in the manual that I can find.

I wish that I had better news for you.

WHAT SIZE AND TYPE BOX DO I USE FOR ONE PIONEER TS-W304C SUBWOOFER

You have a lot of choices for this. First, unless you are tuning the sub to a specific frequency you have options. You didn't specify the size of sub so it's difficult to say specifically, but if it's a 12 inch sub, you need about 1.5 to 2 cubic feet. Of course the performance of the sub depends on the music you listen to. If you listen to rock, pop, classical, or country, I recommend a sealed box. A sealed box gives you better control over your sub. The air acts as a cusion and decreases the return time of the cone to rest position. This gives you tighter bass. If you listen to rap or hip hop, I recommend a ported enclosure. This type of enclosure allows for more cone excursion, thus allowing the sub to recreate lower frequencies. Hope this helps.

Velodyne sub woofer: Series S Model: VA08BVX10

The volume control pot can be replaced.

Any good quality audio shop or electronics repair shop should be able to fix this.

I Do Not Know How To Connect Boston Micromedia To My Computer

The Boston Micromedia speaker set comes with two speakers (right and left),a subwoofer, and a complete set of cables to connect everything up.

1.) Position the speakers. The two small speakers typically are spaced equal distance apart on a desk/table top to the benefit of the listener. The sub-woofer typically rests under the surface, on the floor for example.

.) Connect the cable sets to the back of the two small speakers along with the speaker feet.
Note: the small speaker with the volume control knob will have three cables coming from it. This will be the "right" speaker. The other speaker will have a single cable and will be the "left" speaker.

2.) The cable ends will be color coded to match the jackson the sub-woofer. Match up the color coded cables to the respective colors on the subwoofer as follows:

(a) White cable end (left speaker) to white jack on sub-woofer.
(b) Red cable end (right speaker) to red jack
(c) Purple cable end (input) to the purple jack
(d) Green cable end (computer out) to the computer's microphone output jack.

Note: if any of the cables are too short to reach their jacks for whatever reason, an extender cable with a female and male end can be purchased relatively inexpensively to make up the difference in distance.

3.) Power up the system (plug in power cables to the sub-woofer and wall), play some music, and adjust the sub-woofer sound (control knob) to suit listening pleasure.

A nice little set of speakers, I had mine for some years now and continue to enjoy them. Good luck!

I cant have my own mp3 songs for my ringtone on my LG Chocolate. it keeps playing the Ring 1 ringtone.

You can: MP3 Player * Download and listen to music with the built-in MP3 player.
* Don’t settle for boring polyphonic ringtones, select an MP3 as your ringtone. (Also supports AAC, AAC+, AAC++ and WMA formats)
* External MP3 button for easy access to your music.
* Graphic equalizer with 6 sound effects to choose from (General, Classic, Jazz, Pop, Rock and Bass).
You should try to find a music or download some mp3 music and when playing click on set as ringtone.
Good luck!

HTS 6500/37 sub woofer

the reciever should have a "subwoofer level" setting, or a "bass level control" If you cannot find this then try to place the "sub-woofer" away from walls and elevate it from the floor. This will reduce it's loudness/ intensity at annoying frequencies...

Good Luck

Subwoofers and amps

If you replace the head unit, that will make a big difference. If not, then it really depends on the type of music you primarily listen to. From a single sub setup, an 8 or 10 in a sealed box is best for punchy base, i.e. alternative, hard rock... A 12, 15, or 18 is designed to reach those lower bass frequencies and are suited better for ported enclosures. I.e. Rap, bass heavy Regge, etc...However, that's not to say that you can't go back and forth between them. The main difference is that a 10 and below tends to be more accurate, and can follow the kick drums, for example, a lot faster than larger woofers. Determine what your primary listening music is, what you want out of your system, and a maximum price for everything first. Then, I can suggest woofers, amps, etc.
