First change the setting of the player to MSC (SETTINGS>USB MODE>MSC) then connect the player to the computer. Open My Computer window and you should see the player right-click on the player and choose format. Click start to continue formatting the player and it should erase all the files in the player. :D

How to delete songs that are not showing

Hello,

Try switching USB mode of the player, to see the hidden files.
See next help link:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/447

Look in the manual for the m200 series players on page 31 under USB, how to select Auto Dectect (MTP or MSC) or only MSC :
http://mp3support.sandisk.com/downloads/um/sansa-m200-um.pdf
MTP is Media Transfer Protocol, seeing the player as a media device.
MSC is Mass Storage Class, seeing the player as a removable disk.

All support for the m200 series players, on next page:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4487#m200

I plug it into the computer and nothing happens

I depends on what you want to do to it.

Removable media is the mp3 player drives that are viewable through plug-and-play access.

If you want to add music and such to the mp3 player, then you right-click on one of the two disk and select explore.

The right disk should show up in a new window with labeled folders inside..i.e. music.

Drag and drop mp3 files to the appropriate folder to add music, and to delete simply click the file you want deleted and press or click delete.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hope this helps, don't forget to rate <(^_^)> thanxx

Removing songs

If there isn't a delete option available on your mp3 player, then here's what i suggest.

Connect your mp3 player to your computer.
Once you have been given notification of the connection, got to my computer.

The mp3 player will be shown as a removable disk.

Right-Click on the removable disk and select the "explore" option.

This will open a new window showing the contents of the mp3 player.

There should be a folder inside the mp3 player (removable disk) labeled music, or a large display of multiple music files.

From here, select the music files you want to delete.... but note that *all music you delete from the mp3 player will be removed permanently, and will not be redirected to the recycle bin*...but you can always get it back ;)

Hope this helps <(^_^)>
