I turn on the tv, hear the clicking sounds it makes, the light on the power button turns on and off....the tv trys to go on a total of three times and then shuts off(never gets to the picture or sound or anything)....my husband is pretty good with fixing things around the house just need some instruction on how to do it..thankyou in advance
It's one of the protection overload circuits connected to the high voltage power supply. I would take it to a repair shop and let them fix it for $200.00. A TV is no place for a novice. Even if its unplugged, it can seriously hurt you.

My problem began overnight, set was operating fine as it was turned off with the remote. The next morning it will not turn on, either with the remote or the manual power button
The fuse is not blown, and I have no Idea where the switch is located since RCA did not put the schematic inside the back of the set.
Other than that I get the same short blinks from the power button ahat has been reported.
Seems like a simple problem but without directions from the schematic I am at a standstill.
Same problem folks. Everything was working fine the night before, I even have it on a UPS. Went to turn it on the night before Thanksgiving with the kids and nothing. You hear the start up buzz but no picture or sound. Green power light flicks on and off. When you unplug it you hear the transformers power down. I do remember hearing a "Fzztp!" when I pushed the remote the first time. Has anybody had any luck other than a repair shop?
TV makes whistle, bird chirping noises when you try to plug in.
there is no picture, no sund. you can hear the power surge sound of it trying to turn on, but you get nothing
