Hi, I own a JVC AV-21SX2EK TV and only recently the screen has dropped to about half way. It sort of flickers there and may move back towards the top with a tap on the side but invariably moves back to about half way again. Any ideas? Dan
The solder joints have cracked on the vertical output IC. If you have soldering experience you can resolder them yourself but if not then let a qualified tech handle it for you.

Look at the jack with 4 wires going up to the yoke, the large set of coils on the neck of the picture tube. 2 wires are for horizontal and 2 are for vertical. Look at the bottom of the board and follow where those 4 wires go. The 2 horizontal wires will go towards the flyback transformer and the large horizontal output transistor. The other 2 wires will go toward the vertical output IC. Resolder the pins of that IC and while you are at it, resolder the pins of any other IC or transistor that is mounted on a metal heat sink, as well as any other solder joints that look discolored, cracked or weak.
