Re:
How are you trying and what are the results? are you hooking up an analog camcorder to the correct video inputs? (the yellow red white), instead of perhaps the component that will not give you color on comp inputs.

Currenly Sony TV and Palystation only supports videos in MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MP4, WMV, ASF, DivX HD.
In order to play MKV on Sony TV, we had better convert MKV to Sony TV compatible format.
You can connect the A/V output of the Camcorder to the A/V inputer(Yellow, REd and White) to view the recordings on the TV screen. Once you connect the Camcorder, playback the videos and select input using INPUT/TV/VIDEO button.
Sounds like a problem with the European signal trying to be viewed on an NTSC signal set. If the picture plays back fine on the camcorder and not on the tv set then its most likely the conversation loss between the 2 different video standard signals
if this is b/w on the tv then you have a settings problem.
you need to check you connected the camcorder to the tb correctly, it should be yellow for video and red and white for audio, and you could try looking at the tv menus
if its the camcorder then check the cc monitor. and all the settings. Get anew dv tape and record something , check its colour then play it through the tv.
