I have videos but no sound. My movies play fine.
Did you use iTunes to convert video to iPod? If yes, try other iPod converter, because iTunes cannot convert muxed video (muxed video means the audio and video are on the same track). Muxed video converted by iTunes will lose sound. You can learn more about the problem from apple official document

This sounds odd but do you have your headset (earplugs) plugged in? or is the devise plugged into a player with speakers? If so then try to turn up the volume with the wheel by going clockwise.
