Have a Dell laptop...Windows XP....four years old. Tried to install mouse...won't work. Tried different USB ports..no success. Brand new batteries...pushed every "connect" button on bottom of mouse and on the USB device. Still no luck. Thought this was suppose to be "plug-n-play" Laptop has touchpad. Are you suppose to disable it for the new mouse to work? Appreciate all suggestions. Thank you Mouse lights up....but, won't move on screen.

The mouse should be Plug and Play. Did you install the drivers before plugging the mouse's receiver in? The PC has to have the drivers first in order to take advantage of the Plug and Play capability. If you plugged the mouse's receiver in before installing the drivers, unplug the mouse receiver, uninstall the driver, reboot your PC, reinstall the driver, then plug the receiver in and you should be fine.
Otherwise, press the Connect button on the receiver first, and then the Connect button on the mouse, and that should establish the connection. You don't need to disable your touch pad in order to use the mouse.

To use the mouse, you need to press the Eject button behind the scroll wheel. This lets you open the battery/USB storage compartment. Put two AAA batteries into the mouse. Then remove the USB adapter (it's between the two battery slots). Close the storage compartment and put the USB adapter into an available USB 2.0 slot on the computer with a version of the Windows OS above Windows 98. (Note: the specifications I see indicate Dynex wrote drivers for Windows Vista. It may not work with Windows 7, 8 or 10.) Make sure that the computer is on and can get driver updates from on-line sources. Turn on the mouse and it should auto-pair with the receiver. If there is no response, try pressing and holding the connect button on the bottom of the mouse.
Assuming you are using a newer version of Windows...Insert nano adapter into an available USB slot and the system should auto detect the adapter/mouse.
You can only connect USB mouse to yout laptop. For USB mouse the driver is not needed. You can just plug in the USB cable of mouse in USB port and go ahead. Windows will install the relevant software automatically.
There should be a small button on the underneath of the mouse which should say "connect" press that button and also the one on the USB receiver if it has one. Also check if you have put the batteries in the right way round.
I called Dynex customer support and they walked me through the troubleshooting process. It turns out there was a problem or conflict with one of my usb ports. The port recognizes my flash drive and other usb devices but not the mouse. I tried using the other two remaining ports and the mouse was recognized and works just fine.
Have you tried going into the control panel - mouse - pointer options - motion speed (slower) and experiment with pointer precision check box? Try it, see what that gets ya.

Few-months-old Toshiba laptop PC with Windows XP Home came with a Dynex Model No. DX-PWLMSE wireless mouse.
For some odd reason, the mouse mysteriously freezes up and won't work for long periods of time......days orf weeks.
Then suddenly, agiain for no obvious reason, the mouse will become operational again.
Is there a fix for this..... other than buying a new mouse??
