The scanners won't scan information after being programmed
The scanners are being programmed using the program sheets from the manuel. They are 'beeping' as they are being programmed. When I go to scan a barcode, no information is being entered into the field by the scanner.
I have switched out scanners and cables, and the same problem reoccurs. I've checked the ports and all are enabled. What else sould i check?
Re: the scanners won't scan information after being...
I would scan default barcode again.
If you are using PS2 connectors. Scan barcode for PS2 keyboard.
And USB for USB connectors.
Most likely it is not seeing the device. Or treating as a keyboard as it should.

It could be either one of two things, first of all will this unit scan any barcodes, or is it just one particular one it will not scan. If nothing scans and if no special programming was added to the scanner I would consider defaulting the unit back to factory settings. This procedure can be found in the manual that came with the scanner or here is a link http://www.honeywellaidc.com/CatalogDocuments/00-02544%20Rev%20K%202-11.pdf *** If you are going to do this please confirm that no special programming was done to this *** but normally they are ready to scan right out the box. So scan the barcode to "enter/exit configuration" the unit will beep tree times, then scan the "recall defaults" and the unit will beep once. Then scan the "enter/exit configuration" once more. Then try to scan a retail barcode. Hope this helps.
There is no general reset function that will clear all of the frequencies (they're not codes) from your scanner, but there are two ways to clear individual frequencies: 1. Programming "0.0" (zero point zero) into a channel will remove the programmed frequency. 2. Programming a new frequency into any channel will remove/override the previously programmed frequency.
You can download and print the manual for your scanner, at no cost, here: http://www.uniden.com/pdf/BC248CLTom.pdf
For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, and a lot of other useful scanning information, visit: www.RadioReference.com
from manufacturers site take scan code sheet, you will just find there programming scan codes, one for start programming, another to terminate auto entry and third to terminate programming. that is correct procedure if scannig is automatically set in scanner, if scanning is in your database on other hand, you need to re-write that bit which insert your code to database/spreedsheet automatically and change it to manual, as i do not know which of these method you use, i cannot be more specific.
try scanner first! usually scanner is programmed on automatic.
In your programming manual there is a barcode scan that needs to be scanned in that adds the carriage return function. To do this you will first need to scan the barcode to put the unit into program mode, then scan the carriage return barcode, then scan the end programming code. Now when you scan a barcode the scanner will add the return to the sequence it sends to the computer. If you can't find your programming book you can download the sheets from the Symbol web site.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
There should have been a sheet or book of bar codes that came with your scanner. These codes will allow you to program your scanner to do most anything, including adding a tab. You simply look at the bar codes and read what they do. you simply scan the one that adds a tab and it will forever add the tab unless you re program it.
If you have lost your book/bar code page, you should be able to go to the manufacturer website and download/print a document with the programmable bar codes.
The first thing you need to do is set the LS9100 to know it's connected to a synapse cable. Scan the "set all defaults" barcode and then the "set synpase host" barcode. Once you have done this you can program the unit for the specific synpase cable your purchase, such as USB, PS/2, etc.
