Cubase shuts down every time I try to process a recorded file

I just installed Cubase 4 LE to use with my PreSonus Firebox.  I recorded my voice through my CO2 Studio Condenser mic into the presonus and then into my iMac into a stereo L channel track.   When I selected a portion of the recording and chose a process to apply to the file the whole thing shuts down every time I hit the "Process" button.  I Tried deleting the program and reinstalling, I tried restarting my computer, and tried calling Guitar Center with no luck.  Please help me.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Thank you Vanbiaka for your reply.  Could you please tell me how to do a "clean" install on a new OS?  Do you mean I need to reset the whole computer from ground up and then reinstall?  I hope that's not what you mean...

I just installed the update to 4.1.3 from cubase's site and now the problems are worsened--it claims all my ports are unmapped because the presonus is "not connected".  But in fact, it is.  I hadn't changed anything since before the update.  Comments?

    Thanks again,

    M

Hi Melimiti,
You are not the only one with this problem. Cubase is quite a complicate software. If reinstalling does not help we need to have a CLEAN Install on a new OS. If the problem still persist contact the vendor for the product exchange.

Hi there. I'm using an H4 recorder with Cubase LE 4 on my PC and am suddenlt having problems using the device to record on my computer. In the Device Set Up dialogue box, whenever I try to switch...

There could be a few potential causes for the issue you're experiencing with your H4 recorder and Cubase LE 4. Here are a few things you can try to resolve the problem:
  1. Check the device driver: Make sure that the ZOOM H4 ASIO driver is properly installed on your computer. You may need to reinstall the driver if it has become corrupted or is not up to date.
  2. Make sure the device is connected: Ensure that the H4 recorder is properly connected to your computer and that the connection is secure.
  3. Restart the computer: Sometimes, simply restarting the computer can resolve issues with drivers or software.
  4. Check the Cubase LE 4 settings: Make sure that the H4 recorder is selected as the input and output device in Cubase LE 4's preferences.
  5. Check for updates: Check for updates for both Cubase LE 4 and the H4 recorder to ensure that you are using the latest version.
  6. Disable other audio devices: If you have other audio devices connected to your computer, try disabling them to see if that resolves the problem.
  7. Run Cubase LE 4 as administrator: Try running Cubase LE 4 as an administrator, by right-clicking on the Cubase icon and selecting "Run as administrator"
  8. Check for conflicts: Make sure that there are no other software running that may be conflicting with the H4 recorder and Cubase LE 4, such as other audio recording software or system services that may be using the audio driver.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be best to contact the manufacturer of the H4 recorder or Cubase LE 4 for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer a solution to the problem.

Vista 64 bit audio engine will not start. cubase

If you're using the same software on the 32 bit and the 64 bit, that's probably the problem. You could find the right software for your version of Windows if you searched online or at the manufacturer's website.

H4 randomly stops recording on cubase le

I may possibly have solved this. I didn't realise that when I log off from Cubase, the ASIO driver returns to the Multimedia ASIO driver, which seems to be the default setting.

Every time I want to record with the Zoom H4 in future I'll need to reconfigure the ASIO driver to the H4 one.

I thought once I'd set the driver, it would remain there every time Cubase booted up. Apparently not.

Tascam us 144 sync problems with cubase le

Hey lea,

i have a similar setup (Cubase LE & Tascam 144) and each time i start up Cubase i have to make sure there is no digital input going to the tascam. once cubase is started up but no project loaded i plug in my spdif from my DAT machine and then open my project and all is fine. does that answer part of your question?

i have a different problem though, i'm trying to record my DAT tapes which are recorded at 32khz and cubase doesn't recognize that sample rate properly. it'll record no problem, and play them back fine, but exporting always creates mismatched sample rates in the exported file. sucks big time and i have got no idea on how to fix it either.
