Hello, my Alba TV randomly changes channel and it makes a *pop* noise whilst it's doing it. Any ideas?

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.
There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here.

How do i change the system of bush btv180tsil tv/vhs pal I to pal BG

Just go to its menu option first. There you can change the sound system to PAL B/G, NTSC, andso on. Select the system to PAL B/G first. Then make an auto tune function, All the channels sorted by the TV will automatically tuned and stored in memory with PAL B/G only.

Alba 3406 tvd

Connect pin 1 & 5 together (momentarily with a small switch), on the remote control handset. with the tv already switched on, This will put the set into the engineering set up mode. You can step between the various options by using the -/-- button. the Mute button invites you to save your changes which I believe is saved when you next press the -/-- button. there are 18 different service pages in all, be very careful not to change things which should be left alone, as this menu controls the way this set operates. The menu button exits the service menu. I believe menu 13 should be the AV-SND options menu, you can select either DK-I-BG or M sound systems. only set one system to "on"at any one time. You may also need to check 14, the C- SYSTEM options Menu. Good Luck, A D.

No sound

Go into the TV Menu and access the sound settings, for the UK it would normally be set to I. This MAY need to be changed to a different setting. Try the options that are listed. Might fix it!!

Dvd player split screen

Could be that some combination of the progressive scan and the line input is confusing your system. Sometimes the line doubler on the TV set causes this when recieving a 480p input. If this effect doesn't reproduce on another set, then there you have it. Try turning progressive scan off, or change between the analog(yellow) video, the component(RGB), and the S video(fat one with pins). Good luck
