we recently purchased a fuji fine pix 6800 camera, we have had it all of 2 weeks and now when you turn the camera on the lens cover wont open, and the camera wont zoom in and out. "zoom error" flashes up on the screen.
Any suggestions? really dont want to have to send the camera back to NZ for repairs (where we purchased it).

Hi. If your camera is turning on with the lens stuck out. Turn the camera on, and without turning it off, open the battery door, and take the batteries out. Leave it for about 1-2 minutes and try again. This process is call power reset. Usually works. Good Luck.
try the battery contacts,give them a rub with sandpaper in case they are tarnished.will camera work when on the charger,if it does you may have faulty battery
this is a fuji camera why would sony honour warranty?
