More information about dead battery

I just noticed yesterday that the battery isn't charging. I checked the fuse on the adapter and that is fine. The unit will work when it is plugged into the cigarette lighter in the car, but only then. I tried charging via the computer(which the manual says can be done) and also tried in with another adapter (in my son's car) and it wtill wouldn't charge. I'm assuming it's the battery since it does work when plugged in. I've had the unit since Christmas. Thanks for your help.

This is likely a short connection between the battery. Being jostled around sometimes loosens the battery and that is something which can be easily fixed. Pull the battery out, make sure there is some "spring" in the contacts on the unit and re-plug it in. If that doesnt solve it, then there is a minor repair/solder needed to be done. call the company and tell them that you need to reconnect battery circuitry and you should get a reasonable response

This was just an answer to your question... so if possible, please post this as solved. It is as solved as possible without expert hands on repair.

Not listing as solved affects my standings on this site.

    Thanks!

Xantrex XPower PowerPack 300 will not charge even after replacing both battery and adapter. What else can I try?

Either charger has an issue or new battery is boogus. Check charger output for specs. Subject battery to a few discharge/charge cycles. If charger is definitely good and battery will not charge fully after a few cycles then you have confirmed that new battery is bogus.

I have a 1995 geo metro notice my dlr lights not working and the car wont star it wont even click or turn the motor all the fuses are fine and when turn the switch to on position engine light come on

head lights must come on, or the battery is dead.!!!
the head lights work key off. so that is first check, and first to fix.

when this happens you have a dead battery, (fuses good, and tested all fuse,in engine bay.
  1. the classic, jump start using jumper cables .
  2. charge the battery so it reads 12.6vdc rested
  3. try a known good battery in car, that works in another car.

easy, right?

Starter wont engage after replacing dead battery

Check power to starter motor solenoid, solenoid operation and starter motor voltage during cranking. If the starter motor is receiving power from the solenoid, but isn't cranking, then replace the starter motor.

Also check the condition of battery terminals, wiring and connections. Also check the earth wire from the body to the engine.

ASUS G50Vt-X5 Laptop Battery Not Charging

Take the battery out, plug in the charger and see if the laptop works.
If it works, the battery may be the problem.
Check the AC Adapter
Check to make sure the adapter is plugged securely into the wall outlet, connected firmly to the adapter box and to the back of your laptop.
Most AC adapters have a little light in them on that rectangular box in the middle of the cord that lights up when it's getting electricity.
If that light isn't on, try a different outlet.
Check your fuse or circuit breaker box and plug a different device into that outlet to make sure there is power to it.
If it still does not light up, your adapter could need replacing.
Also check the adapter box for signs of warmth, as it will generate heat when it's plugged in. No heat means no power.Remove the Battery Sometimes it's as simple as a seated battery.
Remove the battery entirely and clean out any dust, lint or hair that may be clogging the connectors and preventing a proper connection.
Reseat the battery securely and make sure the little locking pins that hold your battery in place are securely fastened and there is no movement.
hope this helps.

I just bought a hp pavilion dv7-6c95dx and noticed the battery isn't charging

If the laptop is brand new, return it to HP form warranttee repair. If you do otherwise your warranttee will be void.

If the Laptop is not brand new, remove the battery and with the AC adapter connect power the laptop. If the laptop come on you have to replace the battery.
However, if the laptop did not come on with the AC adapter connected, the board of the laptop may be fault and you may have to replace the laptop.

No power

This sounds like your power adapter is not charging/powering your machine, and the battery is dead. Using a volt/multi meter check the adapter's output. If it isn't what the input listed on the laptop, you will have to replace it. Be sure to test your laptop battery also. Good luck,

My Toshiba satelllite A 305-S6905 System unit laptop just stopped charging , it does not switch on. only yesterday, it was working fine with no problems. it is just two years old .

Please check your battery for right voltage. if the voltage is down check the voltage in your adapter. If there is no voltage in the adapter then you might have to open check the continuity of the cord, normally this cord shorts and the adapter cutts off supply due to a high current error. So if there is shor tremove or other wise check the SMPS circuit for failed components, fuse, recifier, capacitor, driver. However if adapter works there must be supply at the battery terminal of the laptop, if not you have a failure in the charging circuit in the laptop. Hope you check this out one by one. Hope I could help. Good day

IBM T23 Thinkpad battery does not charge

If you have some electronic skills and are not afraid to open up your laptop then I might have a solution for this. It could be a known problem in T23 where one component is loosen from the mainboard and in that case it can be fixed with a soldering iron. Other possible cause is blown fuses. But to confirm this you have to remove the keyboard and do the check.
