I bought my psp about two years ago, right when it came out. about a year ago my battery stopped charging. i thought it was a battery problem but about six months laters ot started doing it again. i traded batteries with my brother and it worked again for a while, but my psp started acting up again. i can charge the batteries in my brothers psp, but my psp doesnt recognize either, even when they are fully charged like i said. i want my psp fixed because i really dont have the money to buy a new one and i like the games on the system. could anyone help me???
Put pressure on the back battery cover and try and turn on. The battery contacts might be loose form use. New battery will fix but old battery just needs to be tightened up at the contacts. try and use a very thin pin to pry the contacts toward the center of the cavity. They "hug" the blades in the PSP itself so if you close them in the battery you have a good chance of fixing it.
Have you updated your firmware recently? Check your PSP to make sure there aren't any loose connections. If you're comfortable with it, you could open it up and make sure the plug for the charger didn't come loose somewhere. It may just need a touch of solder to put it back into place.
How to save your dead battery: Please note using below method at your own risk, and you have been told.
