Acer aspire 5100 laptop not booting

I was on the internet and my laptop froze. I turned it off manually and tried to turn it back on. Since then it has not booted; all I get is power on the mother board but no booting. I even tried a power reset. What can I do?

Hello If the system is not started means no display at all, then remove the batttery and put it again. We you get the initial display then enter into cmos setup. Restore default value. Tye to boot. Sttill if you are not able to boot then put the bootable/recovery cd into cdrom and choos option boot from cdrom.

Failed Bios Flash on Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-NR180E : Won't Boot

Try removing the battery, unplug from power and push the power button to clear any static or errant voltage. If this does not work, try inserting the windows disk, or recovery disk and turn on computer. It may boot into the recovery mode. Let it do an automatic recovery. Thirdly, If you can download the bios from sony that belongs in that machine, you can flash the bios back to what version belongs there.

My laptop keeps restarting without me touching the same thing

Boot into safe mode, allow it to boot completely. Then shutdown/restart as normal.

It should be back. If not, allow it to reboot and choose the "Last Known..." option and boot from there.

Good luck

HP laptop wont start up properly

If it has a CD/DVD drive, and you have a 'startup disk' or similar utility disk that may have come with the system, you can put the CD in the drive, and see if it will boot from there. Normally holding down the 'F12' key will give you the menu to choose which device to boot from.

If you're not comfortable trying that type of thing, it's probably best to take it to a repair center.

Good luck, and post any updates,
