What size microwave oven do I need to replace a GE jkp85?

Yes, but the replacement door may cost as much as a new microwave oven. Not sure if it's logical to replace just the door.

I have exactly the same problem. I take it no one has offered a solution to this. Don't know if this is a lining coming loose and potentially dangerous. Anyone know?

try to replaced the keypad and spray a wd40 at the terminal of the keypad to mainboard.

Usually this is a bad turntable drive motor in the floor of the microwave but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance.

I would start by checking all of the door switches. Once you remove the shell, you will see them all on a rail where the door latch goes. Some will be normally open, some normally closed. If they all check out, check all of your overloads and thermal fuses. They should all read closed. If they all check out as well, replace your magnatron, capacitor, and diodes.

unfortunately there are hundereds of ge microwave/oven combs that start with jkp85. do you know what part hes looking for? some parts are more common than others. i have many sources for part number if i know what he needs i can try to give you the number

the switches are on the left or right side or both (there may be two).locate them and theres 2 wires on the switch.jump them out.if there bad replace them as it would be a hazard issue for radiation not to.
