Question about Tascam Quantegy 120 Minute Digital Audio Master for DA-88

Firstly well done for buying an excellent quality mixer. I take it you are referring to a software sequencer (if not why not) to take advantage of the DM24's firewire streaming and eliminate the need for a separate audio interface.
A choice of sequencer really depends on your application as they all have varying strengths and weaknesses, however one thing they all have in common is that the DM24 can be used as a control surface for all the major sequencers.
Cubase - easy to learn and user friendly, however the selection of virtual midi instruments and effect plugins is pretty limited and not great quality. Also it can be a bit unstable if you are using arrangements with lots of recorded audio parts. Its more at home with MIDI applications where you either have your own outboard synths or you have purchased a good set of softsynths.
Logic (Mac only) - Not quite as intuitive to use, however the selection of virtual instruments and FX bundled with the package are excellent quality. Also is a lot more stable for audio applications since it has been programmed to make more economical use of your system resources. This is a good choice if you are multitracking bands and have a lot of audio parts to deal with.
Sonar - this is basically the PC equivalent of Logic though there are a few differences.
Pro Tools- the biggie, and also the most expensive! This is a good all rounder, not had a huge amount of experience with it myself but pretty much every pro studio in the world uses tools and the built in plug ins are second to none.
Note all these have LE (learning edition) versions as well as the full versions, where the LE's are slightly stripped down versions of the full. Look at what your requirements are and make a decision based on whether you are likely to use the advanced functions of the full versions.
Finally if you have the budget, have a look at Reason. This is a virtual synth rack and can be used either stand alone or plugged into your main sequencer. Loads of excellent drums sounds, one great synth, one OK synth, the rex player which is excellent, and a good sampler. If you can justify the cost its well worth having.

This mixer is plagued by bad caps in the powersupply. Open the desk. Find the powersupply and change the caps... (big black round capacitors. If the silver heads are a bit round they are failing. They should be dead on flat.
