I've always used the resovoir to collect water in my dehumdifier. Recently we've moved to a house with a sump pump. I would like to drian the water from dehumidifier directly into the sump pump drainage hole. My dehumidifier is probably 5-6 yrs. old. What kind of hose should I buy to use for drainage? Did one come with my dehumidifier when I bought it? If so, I don't have it any more.

Unfortunately, Russell the length of the hose can not exceed 5 feet. If you're using it in a basement application, you may can stretch it to 6 feet to the floor drain, if you get the unit up off the floor by about 6", onto something sturdy, that can handle the weight of the unit & the vibration. I don't think an ejector pump is the answer. As it would require a sump for the water to drain into and the pump would have to be located in it. Just a lot of extra expense, that really isn't worth it.
I hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.
Look at the drain pan, it might have a garden hose connection that you might have to knock out, mine is not the same model but it may be similiar, and then run it to a floor drain or such. Good Luck
Any garden hose will fit the drain connection on your dehumidifier. However, the hose can not be longer than 5 feet. As the drainage relies entirely on gravity to drain. Connecting it directly to a sump pump is not a good solution. Allowing the hose to drain into the sump pump's water collection tank is your only option.
The hose attachment is used in place of the water collection bucket, to drain the water directly into a floor drain or a sump pump holding tank. A garden hose is connected to the "hose attachment" and run to the floor drain or sump pump holding tank. However, it will not drain UP, only DOWN.
Check the hose for clog up as well as your sump pump. Have your hose unclogged and let it run. Check the sump pump if this is running. And if it is, and still no water goes out. Open the sump, and check the impeller for defect. Impeller is the one that turns around to push the water out. If it is defective, you must replace it to make it run. Once you are done, power it up and start it.
I had the same problem. It seems that you need to add another hose washer to the drain hose that connects to the dehumdifier. I wasn't able to tighten it enough by hand to keep it from leaking. BE CAREFUL ! ! The plastic connector in the dehumdifier is just that PLASTIC so don't try to overtighten with a pliers, etc... I still get a minimal amount of water in the bucket but only have to dump every 4-6 weeks, if even that.
