I have some ICOM IC-F11/S VHF Transceivers. I am having a problem with one of them. When I put it on the charger, it emits 4 beeps, then the red and green lights flash on and off. I have changed batterys with a know working battery. I have taken if off the charger and let it completely die to no avail. Any other suggestions?

Sounds like an intermittent problem. Was the radio ever dropped or water damaged. I would have to open the radio to check for damage. I think i'ts a
good idea for a tech to look at it. The IC F21S is an inexpensive radio you might just want to buy a new one. A tech will charge you around $65 just to look at it and a new on is around $129.00. I list on ebay every once in awhile a repair special for $32.00. But is depends on the problem. Carl

My icom ic-m21 vhf marine transceiver when I put it into the mains charger the green charging light is not coming on. Can you help.

I would check the charger contacts and make sure that they are actually touching the battery contacts. Also, if the battery is shot, the charger may not recognize that there is a battery in it!

You might want to try cleaning all of the battery contacts and the contacts in the radio. These often get corroded and can cause problems.

How do i program dstar in icom 80ad?

If you have your manual, follow the instructions starting on page 34. If you do not have the manual, you can download one Google searching "icom ic-80ad d-star manual". Fixya restricts me from directly sending you the URL, as it contains the word '*mateur' where "The word *mateur is considered as profanity on Fixya." * = letter 'a'. Go figure.

I believe one must purchase software and a programming cable to program the frequencies of this radio.

Handheld Marine Radio

This applies to all battery powered radios. Take out the battery and measure the voltage to see if it is indeed charged. If it's not, then the fault is the charger or the battery or both. If the battery voltage shows that it is fully charged, then clean the terminals on the battery and on the radio with a pencil eraser to remove any corrosion. If still no joy, then look up in your user's manual on how to do a reset. If you don't have a manual, get on the ICOM website and download one.

Good luck.
