Usually Barcode devices come with a code book to program them, This is usually contained in the user manual, and will be several pages of barcodes, using these barcodes you can set the options of your handheld device, including what types of barcodes it can read and other options like output formats and seperator characters, you should also be able to change whether it beeps or not,

Metrologic ms9535 4 beeps - whilst fully charged on cradle - still scans ok but nothing in manual to say what the problem is. Any ideas?

The battery can be found for around $35. Just search Metrologic ms9535 battery, or the battery part number itself, 46-46870.

Trying to use Casio PCR-T2100 cash register & Metrologic scanner.

Hi,
for the scanner, u need to program it to suit Casio Cash Register, eg: baud rate, parity , data bit & so on...other wise, the Cash Register cannot receive the signal from the scanner.
After program the scanner , please perform "flag clear" to the cash register.

Scanner beeps. Laser is a dot instead of a line.

There is a problem with the scan engine. The dot is created when the mirror inside the scan engine stops oscillating. If your scanner is still under warranty send it back for repair or request a replacement.

Voyager 5929 doesn't work with Vista

The problem isn't your scanner or Vista, it's your adapter. Power requirements and speed of data require special adapters. One I always recommend is Scan Technology's part # STI-PS2-USB. I've tested it with all Metrologic scanners and it hasn't failed yet.

My RS-232 scanner beeps at the bar code but nothing appears on-screen.

The "Beep" just means that the scanner has been presented with a valid barcode. (nothing more) The scanner has probably not been set up correctly as this is a common issue. the settings need to be set correctly for your environment. you should have a code book with some bar codes in (part of the manual) which can set all the options within the scanner, There is an option to recall defaults here is the electronic manual ftp://ftp.metrologic.com/pub/download/productmanuals/00-02544.pdf
