The outer screen is called a Lenticular screen, it may come as a set with the Fresnel (the inner, and the way I would actually go) the screen is very hard to replace usually on a DLP as they have a somewhat sealed upper side and alot of screws.

White spots on samsung DLP tv

DLP/mirror chip is going bad. A common problem on Sammy TVs after 2-3 years. Chip is user replaceable (try samsungparts.com or ebay) for about $150-200. Sammy was (last year) repairing the DLP White Spot problem for free. You MUST talk to ECR (executive customer service) to even think about getting that consideration--forget the standard CS people. Don't know if they are still covering this out of warranty in 2010.

Spiders inside my Toshiba DLP TV.

This is an interesting problem. I'd say the most inexpensive bet is to place some spider traps outside the Television and let the sweet scent attract the spiders. It might work over the period of several days. More info here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Spider-Traps

POSSIBLE CRAKED LCD SCREEN

the only possible repair is to change the lcd panel.. which would probably cost you more than the tv itself.. sorry for the bad news

Plasma work fine but outer screen cracked.

it's hard not seeing the 'crack' but basically a real crack will allow the (plasma) gas to escape. if that happens just forget it and buy a new one if out of warranty.

if it really seems as tho there is a crack in the glass, I would just enjoy it while you can, and try not to ever move the TV as it may totally go at that point.

if under warranty get a tech out to the house before it expires. make them come out in this case rather than bring it in for the aforementioned reason.

My Samsung 50" HLS5086W wide screen tv keeps shutting off....

I am not in my shop, so, I cannot look at the schematic. The only problem I have seen with two lights blinking with this set is an intermitent thermal fuse above the lamp. Sometimes the lamp door switch is in the up position and it needs to be down (This normally occurs when the lamp door has been opened and it also comes from the factory in the wrong position. The set has a one year warranty. Contact: 1-800-SAMSUNG for a local servicer.

Samsung DLP HLS5086W - spider crack

You will need to get the screen from here:http://www.samsungparts.com/part_detail.asp?catalog%5Fname=Parts+and+Accessories&product%5Fid=BP67%2D00261A&search%5Fmodel=HLS5086W You should also get the service manual for this TV set, as that will show you how to disassemble the TV set. Good Luck
