It worked fine for about 6 months and now it is flickering. Updated driver, but did not help.

Does the monitor remain on does it switch off?
Problem seems to be hardware related ie monitor itself is defective.Try connecting to another known working system. If monitor is defective it could be a power/inverter related issue or panel could be defective.
Please provide feedback and rate the solution.

your monitor got trouble at:
1) monitor inverter board components fail like capacitor or MOSFET diver, it can repair or change this parts to fix.
2) there is disconnection between the inverter and CCFL lamps
need to check by technician, it could be fixed,
3) check the DCpower supply board capacitors swelling which need to reaplace, and fix it.
all steps need to do and fix it well.

Its the capacitors on the backlight power supply. Samsung installed crappy ones and they blow up after a year or two. Change out the caps and you're good to go

The capacitors BigTech referred to are C110 & C111, 820uf-25V Electrolytic, on the power supply board.
With minor soldering skills, you can replace them with Radio Shack in-store capacitors, Stock # 272-1032, 1000uf-50V Radial Lead Electrolytics for $1.59 each. Works great!
Four bucks and little bit of time saves the monitor.
