Hi, If you are running WIndows 98 you will need the driver downloaded and installed. Here is the link: http://www.vivitar.com/support.asp?model_id=16&modelname=ViviCam3815 Otherwise, you just need to plug camera into the laptop with the USB cable, turn it on, and the laptop should detect it. Folllow the instructions below: 1. Connect one end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer. 2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the USB connector on the camera. 3. Turn the camera on. Your computers operating system will recognize the camera. 4. From the Windows desktop double click on ?My Computer? 5. Look for a new ?removable disk? icon. This ?removable disk? is actually the memory (or memory card) in your camera. Typically, the camera will be assigned drive letter ?e? or higher. 6. Double click on the removable disk and locate the DCIM folder. 7. Double click on the DCIM folder to open it to find more folders such as ?100CAMEA? 8. Your recorded images and video clips will be inside these folders 9. Copy & Paste or Drag-N-Drop image and video files to a folder on your computer When the camera is turned on and connected to your computer, it is considered to be a disk drive, just like a floppy disk or CD. You can download (transfer) images by copying them from the ?removable disk? (?untitled? disk on a Macintosh) to your computer hard driver as described in the prior section. Tip of the Day: Delete the images from the memory card using the menu system in the camera. Don't delete them using your computer. Hope this helps. Let me know if it works. NewMediaMan

I lost my cd for samsung es30 to transfer photos from the camera to pc how to download and install from net get me web adds

Get an external SD card reader/writer. They range from 3.00 to 13.00 US. It makes transferring photos way faster than using the cable that came with the camera. Photo's load directly to your hard drive so photo editing is easier.

Installation

You don't need to install the camera.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

I lost the cd to install the software installation in the computer - model Fuji FinePix A345 Digital Camera

With most recent computer systems, you don't really need the software that came from the camera manufacturer.
  • Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable that was included.
  • Put the camera in the mode for viewing pictures already taken (not sure if necessary).
  • Turn on the camera.
  • At that point, the computer should recognize the device.  It may take a few moments to configure itself properly.
  • Then the computer should make the camera available just as if it were another disk drive (or flash drive).  You should be able to drag or copy photo files from the camera to the computer.  You will first need to navigate through the directory/folder structure of the camera -- the photos are not in the root directory.
Hope this helps.
