are you getting a display on screen? if yes then the phone soundslike it's faulty send it back.
if no screen display check that the sim is in the correct way

1. Main Menu
2. Settings
3. Master Reset
4. Tick the box that says "All"
5. The master reset code should be *2767*3855# (make sure you include all of the symbles)

Did I just respond to this question??? Someone here just posted a very similar question on a Samsung device.

Normally I would expect the default value to be the last 4 digits of your telephone number. If you changed it, good luck.

Please try entering the last 4 digits.

SOURCE: how to turn off keypad tone for Samsung SGH-U900

Go to Settings and then Tone Settings. You will have to scroll down to see your option to decrease keypad tones. Ones you have done this you have to save your settings.
