Getting scanner to scan

Make sure that the keypad isn't locked. See if there is a little key in the display. If yes, then hold down the lock key to unlock the keypad. Next, hit 'scan' and you will have to select a group to scan, so press the #1 or #2 button IF you have frequencies loaded into it. Can you press the WX button to hear the weather? Let me know. my pro-95 has a locked number on the key pad--says=mooo**adl+*30375=bank 0 ch 00 ed: none can you help me get it unlocked ?

MY RADIOSHACK NASCAR PRO-84 SCANS THREW CHANNELS BUT STAYS STUCK ON ONE CERTAIN WEATHER CHANNEL AND WONT CONTINUE SCANNING AND I NEED TO NO HOW TO DELETE THAT CHANNEL COMPLETELY.

The NOAA weather frequencies have constant broadcasts, so your scanner "locks" onto them. The only ways to prevent this are to either delete the weather frequency or lock it out. To delete, just program the frequency "0.0" (zero point zero) into the channel. To lock it out, press the L/O key while on the weather freq.

All channels locked on my radio shack pro-95 scanner

You are pressing the "scan" button in the upper left hand position and getting all channels locked out? Correct?
If you haven't programmed any frequencies the channels will stay locked out. Get your local frequencies by doing a search for police scanner frequencies. Once you have gotten the information for your area press the "PGM" button on the lower right hand side of the key pad. Input your 1st frequency ###.#### then press "ENTER". Press "PGM"key again and enter your 2nd frequency then "ENTER" again. Repeat as often as you wish to enter more frequencies.
Make sure you are entering your frequencies in empty channels unless you want to over write one that you don't want to use any longer. Press "PGM" until you get to an empty channel.
When you are done, (you can stop any time) press the "SCAN" button in the upper left hand position and you are in business. You are supposed to be able to choose which memory position you wish to use but I haven't tried to figure that one out.
If you need the manual for the radio go to radioshack site and do a search for PRO95 and it will come up in PDF format.
Hope this helps. I have owned the pro 95 for maybe 6 or 7 years and after doing a little programming yesterday the thing is much more to my liking. It scanns quicker and scans the channels I wish to listen to.

The frequencies on my scanner are not coming in

while the weather channel is coming in hi LO (lockout) so that if its programmed into a regular scanning memory it will skip. If that dont work look for a lock button or keyboard lock and press that then scan.

Unlocking channels

first press the manual button so you can go through the channels one by one. Then look for a button that has L/O(lock out) push this once for every channel you have a frequency programmed for it, the channel will probably not unlock if there is no frequecy programmed to it.

Stuck on scan mode

Hi, It sounds to me like your keypad is locked. Pg 63 of your manual.
***using the keylock ***
Once you program your scanner, you can protect it from accidental program changes by turning on the key lock feature. When the keypad is locked, the only controls that operate are FUNC, key , SQ, and VOL. You cannot activate the keylock while you are entering a frequency into a channel. To turn on the keylock, press FUNC then key . Key locked appears for about 1 second. Key locked appears when you press any key after locking the keypad.
To turn off the keylock, press FUNC then key . The scanner beeps three times and Key unlocked appears.
The only other choice I see if that does not work would be to initialize it. Pg 84 of your manual. Hope this helps you,, Mechanic

the manual at "http://support.radioshack.com/manuals/ome20-525.pdf" (if you don't have it)
says that you may be in manual mode OR that the channel at 3 might be a "trunk guide", that means that the channel is used to send out digital permissions to the system for each radio in the unit(s) to use a certain freq. when they transmit. good luck!

You will need to program in your local channels - ANALOG ONLY will work, not Digital. I suggest you go to "Radio Refererence DOT com" and go to their database; select your state, then your county, and it will list many frequencies for you to program to your radio. Also, SOME, not many, but SOME, Radio Shacks actually have a ham radio guy working there that can help you program your radio or help you 'CLONE' it from another identical radio. Good luck, and let me know how it goes. Happy New Year my friend.
