Hitachi 53UDX10B My t.v. is about 6 years old. I powers up, but i have a blank screen and it makes a chirping sound. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

With the set unplugged check the horizontal output transistor, horizontal driver transistor and the horizontal driver transformer, for shorts, cold solder joints. Next if all checks ok, suspect the convergence IC's and related circuitry.

The convergence issue might not affect the TV to the point of not turning ON.
The chirping noise you hear, it means there is a short circuit in the circuitry, possible the HOT or power supply assembly.

Replace STKS also it is a 6 hour job if you have to do a complete realinement of convergence so do not clear DCU ram module.

All color guns out of alignment

Needs convergence amps replaced. Sometimes resistors burn and need to be replaced. This repair requires soldering/desoldering equip. and a trained eye, but usually can be done for 175.00-325.00 at a reputable service center. Good luck, Russmann.

Color is off since relocation

Hello Mia1026,

First I would suggest that you have a qualified TV technician look at your set because it sounds like your Blue and green CRTs have been damaged in the move. If this is the case they will have to be replaced.
I would if I were repairing this TV:
Check to see if there was physical damage to the CRTs
Check to see if the HV trippler was functioning
Check to see if the CRTs lit when power is applied (on the Green and Blue CRTs)
That would be a good start.

Chirping, flashing power LED

Ok, first let excuse me for the first solution that I make in the 53UDX10B 53 in. I was thinking was a DLP Television but it was a Projection Television.
The Projection Televisions has others problems, so maybe it is that a Technician must has to solder (weld or give weld points) in some boards (PCBs) inside the TV, (the Main PCB and/or the Sound PCB) and/or perhaps has to change a capacitor (C 33uf 16v) that maybe it is exploded. Because that happen with those old Projection TVs.
It is the same with the 53UWX10B.
For all inquiries please call: 1-800-HITACHI and tell then the problem.
They maybe give you a better solution.

Problems with my 50 inch hitachi ultravision projection screen tv

check the solder around the area of the vertical IC. solder is either cracked or else cold. Cold solder appears as dull. Resolder anything that isnt shiny.
