Microwave repair My Kenmore microwave will not shut off. I get an F6 error reading. Model #665.60601000. 2000 model. Hate to buy another if this can be fixed.

    kenmore microwave, runs when you shut the door. sets a F6 code also. anyone see this and what does the code mean. thanks

My kenmore 665 69682992 2000 model was running fine until it stoped while i was defrosting and the display appeared f6 and continues to run, what should i do.

Just google the Kenmoore website, put in your model number and it will tell you the error codes and faults

The F6 error indicates a relay on the control has failed.
You can try to unplug the microwave for a few minutes and then try it again. If the error repeats then the control will have to be replaced.
Microwaves are not good do-it-yourself projects and I recommend a technician check and repair this problem.
Microwaves are inherently dangerous to service. Internal capacitors can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged. A microwave radiation leakage test must be performed on the unit following any repair.
I recommend calling a service technician to repair this type of problem.

Displaying error F6. What does this mean?
It would depend on the full model number of your oven.

If it has a 721 prefix, it was made by Whirlpool (by LG) and has a stuck cook relay, which we can repair very simply for $39.95 in most cases.

A full Sears/Kenmore model number has 3 digits, a dot, then 8 more digits, such as ###.########

The letter "d" is indicating the microwave is in a demo/learning feature.
To cancel the "demo" mode press and hold "Kitchen Timer" for 5 seconds. Two tones will sound and the small "d" will disappear from the display.

I'd bet the first three digits of your model are 665? That would make it a Whirlpool.

Either way, the first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.

It may be a problem (such as a missing timing pulse) on the control panel. We repair these.

Kenmore Microwave hood combo Model # 66569689992 F6 error code?
i fixed by unplugging the microwave with the door open. I plugged it back in and the F6 was gone. I was then able to set the clock and turn the light on/off . When I closed the microwave door, the F6 came back on and the microwave was making a humming noise. I slapped the side of the microwave near the keypad, and the F6 cleared from the readout and the humming stopped. The microwave is working fine now. Don't know why, except maybe slap on the side reset a relay or something. Anyway, I will never by a Sears Kenmore appliance for the rest of my life. The door rattles when you open a close it (like a part inside the door is broken) and this is the second time a fault code has appeared during use. I had GE Profile appliances at my last house, which are more $$ initial cost, but who wants to screw around buying a new microwave every four or five years. I'll happily spend a couple hundred more for the peace of mind and knowing that it will work during Thanksgiving dinner with the family over.
