I have a sharp 1900 w/r 24 at microwave, display shows a single green dot, when switched on at the wall I just hear a normal sound as if the unit is operating but nothing works

In this case as the display does not show a clock then it seems the program controller is not working correctly. So check power - step down supply, if the pads are responding- if not faulty pads. Also the door switches, if the switch contact are not good then it will not trigger the processor to switch on the waveguides. If the lights or fan work without any display or action of program being triggered to start then it can be a possible fault on the main board or the processor. Sometimes insect secretion can short the board and display panel and so the processor can work in such an erratic manner. If so clean, solder and reset the board.

Now identify the parts by clicking this link: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/microwave/a/5/141/identifying-microwave-parts.html

Now unless the display works and the processor starts to switch on the MAGNETRON , the table and light will also switch on as it must heat.

So it is necessary to check the main controller unit as it seems to be the suspect..

Every thing is working fine but no display as i changed the display & also checked the same display on another set it is working ok changed display ic but still same problem

Power off your computer and remove the smps 24 pin connector to the motherboard and short the green and black pin and see if the SMPS is working if not replace the smps.
Remove memory from the memory slot and switch on the computer if you hear beeps clean the memory or change it with new one that fixes the memory slot
If no beeps by removing the memory then remove the processor fan and clean it with soft cloth and apply thin layer of heat sink compound and switch on the computer
If you still not hear the beeps then change the processor
If still no beeps take the motherboard to a chip level Technion the secondary power supply or the clock, reset etc in the mother board has gone wrong or not producing them

System won't post with the 12 V cpu power plug connected (only runs for about 5 sec)

switch off the system and remove the processor heat sink and the processor clean them with a clean cloth now insert the processor in the socket then apply athin layer of heat sink compund to the processor and fix the heatsink tightly in the socket an drmove the memory card and clean with clean soft cloth and insert them and restart the computer if the problem still presists change the processor with any sutable for the socket and check if the problem still presits remove the f pin conector from the smps and switch on the computer if the processor fan is working properly then switch off the computer and recontct the four pin conector and switch on if the processor fan just initate then you have problem with motherboard

Based on the user manual starting v.2 dated April 2004, this mobo uses a dip switch array to set your processor and bus speed.
You will need to set the correct processor speed based on manufacturer [AMD] description.
Visit this link and see page 23 to set the switches as needed for your new processor.

L7vmm mb. display went out. Monitor works on

Dear User. to plug in the AGP card you dont need to check or see the CMOS. if u have pluged an AGP card and problem still persist then the problem is at *********** side or in RAM. just plug out RAM and other hardware except Processor and cables of switches. the switch on it and if it gives beep then your motherboard and processor is OK. there would be problem in your RAM so change RAM. and if it dont give the beep at startup then the problem is in your motherboard or power supply.
