Question about Panasonic PT-56WXF95 56" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Turns off 2-3 seconds after turning on-no red light?

Best buy-in home repair came in 4 times with no luck. Cost me $100. I think it is a simple fix or cold solder joint. He checked all componenets and told me they were good?? Not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions or similar repairs would be apreciated before I get rid of it. *Problem- When power is turned on, you can hear the relay click (no red light at any time),2-3 seconds later you hear a second click. No pic, sound or start up. You have to unplug in order to get it to do this again. Panasonic PT-56HX41E (2001 model) Has been a great TV with no issues. Just started one day.

Only have one speed on winshield wipers on a 2001 chevrolet silverado

Generally this has to do with the control board which is mounted under a little cover on the windshield wiper motor.

You can remove that cover (torx screws).. and you will see that circuit board..and the black plug attached to it.

By gently wiggling it..and prying.. you can unplug it for inspection or replacement.

9 times out of ten it's cracked solder joints at right behind that black plug.. you can use a solder iron to simply make them liquid again..eliminating the tiny cracks (cold soldered) I think there are four. Chances are this will fix it.. otherwise..you probably need this module.. referred to as a Wiper Pulse Board.. cost between 20 and 30 dollars.

Best of luck to you!

Ford explorer odometer fix

if your odometer will not light up or it comes on and off them you most likely have a cold solder joint and can be fix with basic soldering skills a soldering iron and solder.

Remove your instrument cluster and check the solder joints on the back of the cluster main board. You may have to flex the board to see the cracks in the solder. i have found the main connector soldering joints to be cracked for the display it self. any in question re solder while you are there.

simple cheap fix and not very time consuming at all.

Xbox not working at all come up system error E 74 WHAT IS THIS

Hello there

From what you have said I can tell you that you have the RROD - 1 Red light error

The main causes are Hardware failure, overheating or wear & tear.

You may need to perform simple maintenance, clean or in some cases adjust settings.

To get the best advice on where to start I recommend a XBOX Repair Guide From this you can fix the problem at home and avoid any large repair bills. Its easier than it sounds when you have help from the guide.

The other solution would be to send the console off to Microsoft, This is free if your still in warranty. If your console is out of warranty then the usual price of repair is $100-$150

Glad I could Help!

Good Luck & Best Regards

After running a diagnostic check, the rinse/ spin indicator light comes on stating that the "door lock system" is the actuator to be checked. This all started with a sock stuck between the drum...

Hi,

Often times the Door Lock problem (code FdL) is caused by bad solder joints (also known as cold solder joints) on the CCU circuit board. These cold solder joints cause bad communications with the door lock and the machine thinks there is a door lock problem. The repair is to remove the CCU circuit board (plastic case inside, top, back of the machine) remove the plastic case and circuit board as a whole, then remove the circuit board, it's easier that way. The spade connectors and relays (5 of them) connections will need to be redone. If your handy with soldering techniques the repair is not that hard. If not, take board in the case to a good appliance repair shop (along with this response) and they should be able to help you out. Good luck.

Displays only narrow horizontal band of light on screen do you have any ideas

What you haveis most likely a horizontal collapse, You will have to take the unit in and have it repaired, go to a trusted techie though, Its most likely just a "cold solder joint," few minutes to fix if that is it and if the tech will admit that it is something so simple.
If you take your hand and hit the side of the projector does the line react at all? If it flashes even slightly then you are on the right track
Unfortunately a cold solder joint can sometimes be difficult to locate and due to the intigration you can no longer just check the horizontal control sect of the board....You may try asking the tech If he/she believes it "may" be a cold solder joint......good luck

Picture slowly fades, then comes back and repeats

Stacy,

Sounds to me like there is bad solder somewhere on the filament supply circuit. Do you know what a cold solder joint looks like? It is a solder joint that is not making a good mechanical or electrical connection. When you lose that connection the filament inside the tube slowly stops heating the electron guns and the picture will fade away. When the connection comes back the video will come back.

Might be worth it to take the back off and check out the little board that is connected to the end of the tube. The problem is either there or on the power supply.

Shouldn't be a problem for a repair tech. I would not spend very much money though.

Turn off by it,s self

Just took a look at one of these, and its cold soldering joints on the main board. I re-soldered all the solder joints around the flyback transformer and a few other suspicious looking spots (didn't note where those spots were). Took maybe about 30-45 minutes and now the set is running great. This would cost you about 70-100 dollars at a TV repair shop. No parts required unless the protection circuits didn't kick in and burned out a component someplace.
