I purchased this t.v. for my boyfriend 1 and 1/2 years ago for Christmas. At first, every so often when playing a dvd or XBOX the screen would begin to develop lines that messed up the picture. The screen began to split, and two pictures showed that were both covered in shaky lines. After turning the t.v. off and then back on again, it would fix itself. However, latelly, when we turn the television on, the picture starts out perfectly clear, but after about 15 minutes, suddenly starts developing a vertical line down the middle, and then horizontal lines on both sides. The picture is doubled, and it almost snowy like with these black cracky lines shaking the picture. We have no idea how to fix it and have changed the cables to the most expensive for best picture. My 1 year warranty just expired. Is it worth trying to fix?
Many of the issues with this hunk of junk can be fixed by Sears through a "3 cards and a chip" upgrade - Sears will order the parts for you after they come out and see that sure enough, your monitor hasn't been upgraded (after the upgrade is completed, a sticker is placed on the monitor) which you most likely haven't had done. The chip will fix the problems you're having. I claimed this as "manufacturers issue" with Sears, since they know about the problems with these monitors and they did the work for free. The parts need to be ordered by their tech rep, then they are sent to your house, with instructions and if you're a little handy you can install everything yourself.

The Xbox 360 is known for this. I would contact Microsoft as soon as possible.

Usually you have to be a certified technician of the manufacturer to order and receive those parts. It comes down to insurance reasons because if you were to install them yourself and the TV burned the house down and you were to perish, the company would be liable. As frustrating as it is, you will likely not get the parts. Are you saying that Haier will not provide a service technician for an out of warranty repair or at least point you in the right direction? That's poor customer service and I would think twice about purchasing from them again.
Had the same problem. Purchased Haier 42" model 42EP24S from Sears and it broke in 1 1/2 years. Couldn't find anyone to fix it so I ordered part Service Kit: TV-3940-01 from www.searspartsdirect.com the cost was $150.00. If your warranty is up and you're okay with doing your own work. :-)
Replaced 3 boards (instruction included) and my tv is back in action.

Mine's out, too. Red Horizontal bars Left and Right, picture goes in and out(meaning fuzzy-no picture) on Left half and the TV tuner is gone, I can play DVD with half of a screen most of the time, occasionally the whole screen.
I should have returned my "returnable model" three years ago when I noticed Wal-Mart was NOT accepting returns when purchased after a certain date (I had purchased just before that date) Big, Big, OOPS!!
Repair estimate starts at $800, not guaranteed, and that does NOT include repairing the TV tuner. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch.
I see Hyundai stopped selling these units... anyone in the Chicago area that wants it for parts, let me know.
