Question about Sony KP-57WS500 57" Rear Projection Television
I just replaced the convergence IC's and Green and Blue lined up perfectly! however, when i try to line up the Red through the service menu, it seems as though none of the horizontal adjusts make a difference (such as the CENTer function and the SIZE functions). Very confused... What could cause this? Thanks. Michael Brown
If your TV has a 2 part converge, basic and advanced to do small blocks across the screen, you need to go in & do the red with via adv. mode, then save to memory. If you cannot get RED tore-align you need to go back to the IC's and check the small low ohmage resitors in front of the chips, usually 1 ohm - 220 ohms and are fisible type. Physically remove one leg of each resistor & check. A 1.2 ohm measuring 1.4ohm can cause the tv not to converge. Look for burnt or discolored ones as well. If you find them & replace, you will need to replace the IC's again.

Look through your manual. Your manual will always give you the most specific directions for your particular model. Look for an "adjusting convergence" or "set manual convergence" section.

Solution 2 was it. Thank God. The yellow Circuit Protector was my problem. I actually traced it back last night a couple hours after I posted this. After an hour of tracing circuits and going blind from looking at the schematic. Haha.. Thanks
