Ok so today i dropped my phone about 4 feet and it hit the ground ( accident i bent to pick up something on the coffee table and it slipped out of my hand, i didn't think it hit too hard and it only hit the carpet but i picked it up and the mini LCD lights up it just doesn't display anything, the main LCD is purple-ish with a little white around the top, it won't ring when i get a call, but it will vibrate, i can answer calls and talk to people but i can't hear them, if i put in a headset i can hear them and talk to them, i can recieve texts i just can't see them and it will vibrate when i get one and the red light on the back indicating a text lights up but nothing else.....oh and the model is an audiovox CDM-8910. It'd be just terrific if someone could enlighten me on this, oh and the chrager port is kinda messed up too....which i guess is a comon problem with these phones from what i'd read.
The first thing that made your fon faulty is the flexible cable that connects the boards of your phone. Go to the service engineer near you to replace your phones flex cable.

Just get a new phone......... the screen can't be fixed so you will have to talk to your company to see if they can replace it, if not, you may consider just buying a new one that isn't so easily breakable

SOURCE: Cell phone screen went purple how do i fix it?
It sounds like the phone itself is broke. Try taking it to a repair store of your service provider to see IF they can fix it. You might have to buy a new phone.

My display is exactly the same as it was when new, except that it is now much 'darker' and almost impossible to see - especially in daylight. The colors didn't change (no purple) it just got darker -- as when you make a room darker with a dimmer switch.
My phone has been dropped more than once, and on to hard ground or pavement - not a carpet.
Once, right after it had been charged, it went back to it's original brightness -- but that only lasted for a short time, and hasn't happened again, even though it has been charged quite a few times since then.
I've tried every setting I could access, trying to correct the problem - without any success. (Display... Contrast, Backlight ---- These don't help, though I thought Backlight might lessen the draw on the battery.)
I'm thinking that dropping it (at least inre MY phone) may be only coincidental -- and that the more likely problem would be a worn-out battery. It's the original battery - and I think it's been longer than 3 years.
I just ordered a new battery today -- on the basis that I probably need one, and it's cheaper than paying to have the phone serviced. (I read someone's post saying they were quoted $40 for service.) The battery was on sale at CellphoneShop.com for $8.99 + $4.99 for shipping. So my natural sales resistance was overcome.
I realize this doesn't help with the purple screen, but at least it's about the Audiovox 8910 -- which, by the way, I have found to be quite satisfactory up until the display problem.
I chose it over others mainly because of it's speakerphone capability. Of course, 3+ years, later there are phones with much better features, and I should probably get a new one -- but then there's that "natural sales resistance" issue. :-)
Good luck to all,
Rick
