All in one hp6110xi has been working fine for 1 1/2 years now, when I try to scan a document or photo, a message appears stating that there are no available destinations to send the scan (or photo), re-install software. I have un-installed and re-installed the software many times now to no avail. I cannot scan from the hp director prompts or the front panel of the unit itself without receiving an error message.
Thanks

Re: hp 61110xi no scan destination
Here I am going to ask you to do a reverse check out.
Do you have an image editor of any sort in stalled? If yes attempt to scan from within the editor.
If you do not have an imaage editor down load 'Picasa' from Google' this is free.
Then come back

First, scans and copies don't really use the computer. Can you print a document from your printer. If not, then your problem is within the computer.
If it does print then....
Try using the scan feature within the HP solution center. It works on mine but the scan button on the printer does. Also some art programs have and "ACQUIRE" feature under file to scan with. (Sometimes called TWAIN.)
NO SCAN OPTIONS message comes when the available scan options in the computer are not detected by the destination list in the printer. there is a simple a way get it going, i will tell you how.
1) Open the Hp solution center software Make sure that the right printer is selectedin the tabs. 2)goto settings 3)goto scan settings 4)goto scan to option 5)there you need to transfer the contents from the available list to the front panel destination list. try scanning now and it should work fine.
I hope you get this message when you are trying to scan fom the All-In-One stand alone machine itself and windows operating system...?
If then follw these steps mentioned bellow:
And If the software is successfully installed in your computer, then you should have a icon in your desktop as HP Solution /HP Director (if not got to Start> All Programs> HP> HP Solution Center/HP Director) Then try scanning from there, if you are able to scan from there then try the steps bellow. Open solution center> Settings> Scan settings> Scan to setup> Then in this window click on Restore defaults> Then apply or ok and close all the windows and try to scan from the All-In-One printer. If it still does not work then try the bellow steps: Go to: My computer>C:windows>system32 Copy hpzipm12 minimize this window
Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste minimize this window.
Go back to My computer>C:>windows>system32 Copy hpzinw12 minimize this window
Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste Now you will see two new files in Startup
Now go to My Computer>C:Program Files>HP>Digital Imaging>bin> Copy hpqtra08 close this window
Right click on Start button on the computer>Explore>Programs>Startup>edit>paste Restart the computer
Open Hp Solution Center> Settings>Scan settings and preferences> Scan to button> check destination list> if available applications are not in the destination list then add them in the front panel destination Tried to scan.
Good Luck
below are the steps that i want you to follow. The "NO SCAN OPTIONS" refer to the absence of options when you try to scan using the printer button your printer. However, if you are going to scan from the SOlution center installed in your computer, it will scan without any problem.
Step two: Populate the
destination list
The destination list must be populated in order for
the Scan To function to work. Follow
these steps to populate the destination list.
Open the HP Solution Center. Use one of the
following methods to open the HP Solution Center.
On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP
Solution Center icon.
On the taskbar, click Start ,
Programs , or All Programs , click HP , and then click
HP Solution Center .
If more than one HP device is installed, click the
tab for the All-in-One product. The HP Solution Center shows only the functions,
settings, and support options that are appropriate for the selected HP
product.
Click Settings .
Click Scan Settings and Preferences .
Click Scan to... Setup .
Click the Destination List tab.
NOTE:
Depending on the computer performance, it
can take several minutes for the Front Panel Destination List to populate after
the printer or computer is turned on.
If the Front Panel Destination List is
empty, continue with this procedure.
If the Front Panel Destination List contains
valid scan destinations, proceed to step three to uninstall and reinstall the
software.
Click each program to include on the Scan To
list.
Click the Add arrow.
Click OK .
Scan a document using the Scan To button on the front panel.
If the scan fails, try to scan using the HP
Solution Center Scan button.
If the scan still fails, please let me know.
My Photosmart 2575 v has worked fine as well for over a year and now it won't scan. I get the same message: "Refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I ran all updates and they said I have them all and everything is working perfectly. It's not though. I still can't scan. I tried their work-around by opening paint and then acquring image from the scanner but that does not work either.
By default, the HP all-in-one sends all
scans to the HP Photo & Imaging Gallery for you to preview. Suppose
that you want to scan your photos directly to email instead. To do this
you will need to modify the destination assigned to the front panel
scan button. Here is how to do it:
If you have not already done so, open the HP Director and click
Settings
, point to
Scan Settings & Preferences
, and click
Scan to… Setup
.
The
Button Settings dialog box appears, with the Destination List tab on
top. The HP all-in-one automatically inventories your computer and
lists all the possible scan destinations for you in the Available Scan
Destinations list.
Using our example of scanning directly to email, select the
Email
destination in the
Front Panel Destination List
and click the
Move
arrow to move it to the top of the listing.
Click
OK
to save the new destination setting and close the dialog box.
All
of the scans you do using the HP all-in-one front panel buttons will
now be sent directly to your email program, instead of to the HP Photo
& Imaging Gallery.
Click
Scan Picture
or
Scan Document
in the HP Director to scan using your new settings, or click a
Scan
button on the HP all-in-one front panel.
also Setting a default scan profile
Use the following steps to apply a scan profile to all future scans.
If you have not already done so, open the HP Director and click
Settings
, and click
Scan Settings and Preferences
.
Click one of the following, depending on the type of scan profile:
Scan Picture Settings
Scan Document Settings
Button Settings
The corresponding dialog box appears. If you chose
Scan Picture Settings
or
Scan Document Settings
, the Scan Settings tab is on top. If you chose
Button Settings
, the Scan Button tab is on top. All of these tabs have the setting you need,
Apply Scan Profile
.
On the Scan Settings or Scan Button tab, click
Apply Scan Profile
and select the scan profile that you want.
Click
OK
.
The scan profile that you selected will apply to all future scans for the scan type that you selected.
