Black horizontal lines on mitsubishi VS-5043

Ur Horizontal/Vertical ic stablizer is dead or it supporting componnents.90% is ur IC.

LAMP BULB IS BLOWN

What kind of input are you using

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.

try resoldering the vertical output IC and the horizontal output transistor. It sounds solder related

my guess is convergance ic but to troubleshoot it the best soultion might be to get a can of freeze and spay it on the IC while the problem is happening and or tap the board/ic's to see if you have a loose connection,

Have you tried the diagnostic test yet?

If your tv has a picture tube,your problem is in it. If you have only one line now,the vertical circuit is not working. You could have jarred something loose around the picture tube.Maybe a yoke lead ???
