Is the noise in all inputs (line, tumer) ? If it is in the tuner alone, check the coax lug to see if you knocked it loose. This could be the problem. Check you picture with a DVD player on the Video input. Let me know what you find.

I turned the set on and everything was fine, then the screen went black and mullti-colored horizontal (arched) lines were flashing across the screen. The next day I turned the set on and everything was fine for about 5 minutes then the problem reoccures again. Haven't looked for solutions till now.
my guess is convergance ic but to troubleshoot it the best soultion might be to get a can of freeze and spay it on the IC while the problem is happening and or tap the board/ic's to see if you have a loose connection,
If your tv has a picture tube, your problem is in it.
If you have only one line now,the vertical circuit is not working.
You could have jarred something loose around the picture tube.Maybe a yoke lead ???
