If you have a SD card, there is a little slide on the side to "lock" the card from being written to or erase. there is also a fuction on the setup menu of your camera to lock the card as well.

I bought a Fuji 14mp camera from argos on sat. I used the memory card from my old Fuji, I didnt realise that it didnt come with a memory card. My problem is that I am trying to download phots from it...

You probably didn't format the card in your new camera. This will completely erase it so you need to download the pictures to your computer first. You can use a card reader to accomplish this. They are inexpensive and very easy to use. typrice_185.jpg

Hi, got new kodak camera and 4gb memory sd inside. i only took 8 pictures so far and said internal memory full. i dont understand why? i want to keep 8 pictures and it should be plenty as using 4gb and...

4GB "SD" cards are almost always actually SDHC (high capacity) cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

So your camera is not able to use the 4GB card, and is ignoring it and using internal memory only. That memory is tiny and won't hold many pictures, and when it is full, the camera cannot work at all. You need to delete the pics in the internal memory and get a memory card your camera can understand (2GB or less).

My camera won't let me take any pictures or look at them. Everytime I turn it on it says memory card error, card locked. i've tried moving the locked switch on the side of the card up and down but that...

Okay I think there is a sequence of errors that have happened.
According to my specification of your camera it works with an XD Picture Card NOT an SD card.
First I'm going to assume you put a new memory card in your camera to take the pictures of your "Art GCSE" If this is so then the card needed formatted to the camera (your camera manual may call this initializing) and you have inserted the correct card type. Also the maximum size of the XD card that can be used in your camera is a 512MB. Again if this was the case the camera wouldn't "see" the memory card. I'm sure the camera would have malfunctioned before you started taking your project pictures given warnings or shut down. Can you turn on the camera and see your pictures in the "Play Back" mode? Are you sure you have listed the correct camera make and model. It sounds to me as if we are talking two different cameras here because the XD Memory Card doesn't have a lock the SD memory card does The SD memory card doesn't fit in your Fuji FinePix A350 camera Also the camera you have listed here doesn't have an internal memory it has to work with a memory card Just below here is a link to a PDF Manual

Can you put the memory card that you feel has the pictures on it and use the camera Play Back mode and see pictures?

My cammera is locked i dont know how and why i try to take picture it says THE CARD IS LOCKED i turn it on it says the same i pretty much cant do anything, how can i unlock it or fix it????

SD type cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

There is also a software protection feature on some cameras, but this is used to protect a folder or individual picture from accidental deletion, not the whole memory. You set or release this protection from the camera menus.

If it is not that, then maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards. Have you tried formatting the card in the camera? This would be one way of making sure that the camera can cope with the card, and it will also erase anything on the card. "SD" cards larger than about 1GB are actually SDHC cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

Ok so I have the same problem I went out and purchased an SD card...but it doesnt work. So I called Polaroid and you need to purchase a CLASS 6 SD card of 2gb or more for it to work properly...figures it does not say that in the manual.

Locked memory card...

hi crazytami,

the memory card on your camera is SD. on the side of the card you should be able to see a whitwe toggle switch, try to put it to the left, then try it again on the camera, if not, then try the switch on the right then try it on the camera.

one of them should unlock the memory card. if not, please let me know.

regards,

Card locked but its not

Memory cards are funny things that can sometimes currupt for various reasons i suggest you just buy a new memory card.
Try to retrieve the pictures you can get on your computer before you dispose of the old one.

Good luck

Cant get my pics on to my computer for some reason

There are cameras having dual memory, that is inbuilt and card memory. Suppose your pictures can be downloaded from the inbuilt memory.your card may have problems. You try to format the card using camera and then give another try.
