Question about Sirius Satellite Radio Sirius SIR-ALP1 Satellite Radio Receiver
I just had my tuner professionally installed Saturday and activated the service for the first time Sunday and all the music channels (up to 99 and 116) come in, but none of the talk radio channels 101+. Sirius support has no clue and blames the equipment. Anyone know what causes this?
After the serial number of the unit is given to the support tech to enable service, it is your subscription that aloows to get those stations. It could be the unit as they said.

I spoke with Directed Electronics who said the problem most likely was the subscription. They said my tuner could be exchanged, but they didn't believe that was the problem and suggested I speak to Sirius support again.
Then I called Alpine to get their opinion. Jackpot! It's a software glitch in either the head unit or tuner. I made an appt. with my installer who did both installs. Hopefully, he'll narrow it down to one of the two. Hopefully, he'll plug the tuner into another Alpine head unit and find the problem. Then we can warranty replace the broken item.
If the problem is with the tuner (I bought the lifetime plan) will Sirius change to the new unit for free or will it cost me $75 and count as one of my transfers?
