My ilo player is not responding well.

I can't get my ilo player to fully booth, it says, it's searching, but only up to 60 seconds then it frezzes, and stays that way until I remove the battery to shut it down. When I load new songs it still does the same thing, load, search, then frezzes, HELP!.

Take the battery out for at least 40 min. This resets the player. If not, call c/s 254-224-0222. they will email you the firmware to reinstall.

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by connecting the ILO to my PC, and removing the library files from the root directory.

ILO 2GB MP3 Player Not Working!!!!

1) Disconnect from computer, turn it off, hold in volume + button and reconnect it to your computer - continue holding volume + until the Found Hardware Wizard comes up.

2)
REFORMAT FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - Erases Everything: Connect your iLo player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "ILO 2GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything, and give you a fresh start.

Ilo won't turn on.....

Remove the battery. While this isn't necessary to get the player into recovery mode, it insures the unit will not power on before the cable is inserted. On the iLO, hold the "Power" button down while inserting the USB cable. Continue holding the power button down for 5 seconds more after the cable is inserted. The backlight on the iLO will remain off during this time, making the screen appear to be blank. An hourglass should appear on you computer and Windows should say, "Found new Hardware 'SMTP3500". Launch the Rave-MP firmware update program (Start>Programs>Rave-MP> Firmware) Click "Get Firmware". Select "iLO256" and let it download new firmware. Click "OK" when prompted. Click "Update Firmware". It will now search for the iLO. This may take a while depending on how corrupted the firmware is, so be patient. After it has found the iLO, it will say, "A device has been detected in recovery mode and is being initialized. Please wait." The iLO should come back to life and start showing it's glorious "USB Connected" screen. The "Firmware Update" window should appear. Select "Format Data Area" to rid the player of corrupted firmware data. And click "Start". It can take anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes to re-flash the iLO and the program might appear to have locked up, but it hasn't. So don't close the program or disconnect the iLO! Why are you still reading this? Great, did something happen? Well, If the program fails to find the iLO and gives you an error like, "Device Timeout" or something similar, you need to reinstall the iLO drivers. This can be done by inserting the iLO cable into a USB port it has never been plugged into before. Or you can reinstall the drivers by reinstalling the Rave-MP program. (Remove it, restart the computer, and then install it again). Plugging it into a new USB port is the fastest and easiest option though. Sorting... sorting...

If the player allows you to add music on it via USB as a Removable Disk, then copy all the music off the player onto your computer and then format the MP3 player by right clicking it in "My Computer" and going to "Format...". Start it up without music and see how it goes, if it doesn't turn itself off, fill it with a little bit of music, then a little more until you either put your music back on, or until it screws up again. Good luck!

Ilo logo, search, sort, repeat

This is the worst mp3 player ever invented - i have to tell you this up front. There is no driver, the company does not support the product anymore - I would return it now while you still can.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
