I just bought playstation 3 and also the HDMI to DVI cable, and i had no picture. I set all the options correctly on the playstation, and i still did not have a picture. Any ideas?? Something i may have overlooked?? Or is the input just not working.
You know, I have to unplug the HDMI cable from my DVD player and then plug it back in after both TV and DVD player are turned on. Really strange. But that seems to do the trick.

Rick:
simply unplug--then replug--your HDMI cable. Or also go into the audio setup menu and reapply the "automatic" setting for HDMI to get the sound to work. I don't know if Sony can do anything about this or not in a firmware upgrade, but what it can do is try to simplify the labeling on some of the sound settings.
Let me know
Your TV only has a DVI input, not an HDMI which PS3 has as an output. You can buy a HDMI to DVI adapter and connect the HDMI out of the PS3 to the DVI input of the TV. To get the true HighDef video you need a HDMI input on the TV to enjoy the full capacity of the Blu ray capabilities of the PS3. DVI came out before the HDMI standard and your picture will look good but not like HDMI. I have the same problem with my samsung 65 inch. I Bought the wrong technology. I hope this helps and good luck!
HD comes as 720p and 1080p - the Sanyo will cope with 720 but not 1080 full HD - check the specs in the manual. You should have a DVD output setting for screen mode.
I have had this problem once before and it was because my sound output was was set to the (yellow white red) and so what you have to do is go to Sound Settings then go to Audio Output Settings then what your going to choose is HDMI then it will ask for what method and just select Automatic, then you should be able to here sound threw your tv.
No sir, there is not such switch in menu to change input from S video to HDMI or something. Here is one suggestion, Use 3 RCA pins cable (Audio L/R & Video) to connect both unit and check/ remember TV input and same should be selected in TV menu.
a DVI Connection does not transmit sound, so you will need a seperate audio cable.
Have you changed the settings in the ps3 and your tv's input to HD signal or 720 DPI, do not choose 1080i or 1080P as DVI does not support those high settings.
